Brittany McQuain scored 14 points to lead top-seeded Quinnipiac to a 72-33 rout of Saint Francis, Pa. in the NEC title game on Sunday, earning the Bobcats their first trip to the NCAA tournament. Quinnipiac (30-2) has won 22 straight games with the last loss coming on Dec. 29 at Georgia Tech. With their 30th win the Bobcats joined a select group this season reaching that mark. Only Baylor, Notre Dame and Stanford have more victories. The NEC title came in Quinnipiac's final year in the conference as the school is headed to the MAAC next season. The Bobcats will leave in record-setting fashion. It was the most lopsided game in conference history. Quinnipiac scored 11 of the first 14 points. After Saint Francis (17-15) got within 13-7, the Bobcats went on a 17-5 run to turn the game into a rout. Felicia Barron had seven points during the burst.

Nike uses photo of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to congratulate various teams (Pictures)

The gentleman in the photo that you see above is Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. He plays forward for the Charlotte Bobcats, and as many of you know he helped Kentucky win a national championship in 2012. He does not — nor did he ever — play for Middle Tennessee, Illinois or Ohio State. But that hasn’t stopped Nike from acting like he did. As Nation of Blue pointed out, Nike posted...

Bobcats Brutalized in Celtics Revenge Fantasy

TD Garden might as well have been renamed “The Last Arena on The Left” last night, as the Bobcats were sadistically snuffed out in a blowout that bordered on exploitative, 105-88. The victory enabled the Celtics to avenge their unsettling defeat at the hands of those same marauding Bobcats earlier in the week. The final [...]

Morris Peterson talked about what brought him back to Toronto, what it's like being back in the building, what former teammates he has kept in touch with, and Vince Carter's evolution late in his career.

Bobcats snap Wizards' 3-game win streak

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Gerald Henderson had 27 points, Kemba Walker came up big late and the Charlotte Bobcats defeated Washington 119-114 Monday night to snap the Wizards' three-game win streak. Walker scored nine of his 18 points in the final three minutes to spark a 12-0 run, lifting the Bobcats to only their second win in their last 14 games. Walker shot 8 of 14 from the...

Bobcats 119, Wizards 114

Although the Charlotte Bobcats have been eliminated from playoff contention, Kemba Walker believes the young team can still take something from the season's final 16 games. Most notably learning how to win close games like Monday night. Gerald Henderson had 27 points and Walker came up with a flurry of big plays in the closing minutes helping the Bobcats overcome a five-point...

Comments from the Other Side - Bobcats 3/16

Have to feel for Bobcats fans and have to admire them a bit also.  I have to hand it to them for sticking with their team as poorly managed as it's been over the years.  But there's always hope that they'll turn it around and make the right draft pick one of these years.  Some fun comments.  Enjoy... I like the stat saying we are only 3-14 on the second night of...

Green Envy: What Bobcats fans said - 3/16

In the process of writing this post, I was disgusted with the confidence the fans of the Charlotte Bobkitties came into the game with. Sure, they won a couple games against the Celtics, but for a team that bad to assume they would win? Horrendous. Thankfully the Celtics shut them up by destroying their vastly inferior squad. And to think I came into today feeling sorry for Charlotte...

Celtics-Bobcats Live: Jeff Green, Celts Hope to Hold Gerald Henderson in Check as They Seek Revenge

8 a.m. ET: If the Celtics are looking for ways to improve off Tuesday’s 26-point loss to the Bobcats, they can start by not letting Gerald Henderson score 35 points. That is just a thought. Henderson and the Bobcats (14-51) are in town to face the Celtics (35-29), the only team they have beaten in their last 12 games. The Bobcats still own the NBA’s worst record, but they can...

Garbage Time: Boston Celtics beat Charlotte Bobcats 105-88

Much better.Let’s avoid hyperbole, if we can. Nobody should claim that that game meant more than it did.Sure, the Celtics got blown out by the Bobcats earlier this week. Yes, Jason Terry made it sound like the C’s cared more about beating Charlotte than they do about beating Miami on Monday. And of course, the win brought the Celtics back into a three-way tie for fifth in the...
