Michael Doleac was a college star for the University of Utah. He took them to 1998 National Championship Game where they lost to power house Kentucky. His dominance at Utah made him a lottery pick in the ‘98 draft. He fell to the Orlando Magic at the 12 spot.
His rookie year he averaged 6 ppg and was named 2nd All Rookie Team. The next year he averaged his career high 7 ppg with 4.1 rpg.
In his 10 seasons he never averaged over 20 minutes per game. I guess Doleac didn’t really live up to his lottery expectations. However in 2006 with the Miami Heat, Micahel Doleac won a championship backing up Shaquille O’neal. So overall his career isn’t too bad.
Michael also played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets, and finished his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Rumor has it that Michael went back to Utah in 2009 to become a doctor.
Best of luck to our favorite Dr. Doleac.
