Pro Sports Daily:
In about two weeks the Raptors likely will decide on who will stick around as the 15th and final player on the roster.
Chris Wright was the early favourite Carlos Morais the late addition and Julyan Stone the wild card but of late Stone is making quite an impression on the coaching staff.
Stone a 6-foot-6 guard handled the ball extremely well on Monday during an intra-squad scrimmage at Casino Rama and also played his characteristically strong defence.
Though clearly not yet fully right Stone appears to have some of his explosiveness back as one sequence where he got to the basket after a series of crossover dribbles illustrated.
Considering his defensive bent it’s no surprise that head coach Dwane Casey likes Stone.
“Julyan Stone is a impressive multiple player. I don’t want to call him a point guard because he’s a 1-2-3 (point guard shooting guard and small forward) and probably could get away with guarding some small forwards” Casey said.
“He has been impressive at that pos...

Toronto’s bench is considered a weak point so it was a good sign to see the group play well against Boston on Wednesday.
Yes Boston is a poor squad but considering the struggles so far this pre-season Dwane Casey will take it.
And he will especially take the performance of Landry Fields. Fields scored 14 points and added seven rebounds against Boston following up on a nine-point...
Gay isn’t known for being a vocal player on the court, but ever since he arrived in Toronto he has been vocal in the locker room and during practices.
Hey he grew up in Canada so we'll cut him some slack.
The Toronto Raptors were named to capitalize upon the popularity of Jurassic Park. That's not as bad as The Mighty Ducks debacle but it isn't far off. The best player that played his prime years in Toronto was Vince Carter and he admitted that he basically tanked his way out of town. Basically being a Raptors fan...
The pronouncements were bold and they were brash.
Tim Leiweke and Masai Ujiri are thinking big as they usher in a new era for the Raptors.
Though they both preached patience the high-powered executives made the end goal clear:
The Raptors finally will become a serious relevant franchise under their watch.
“We’ve made it clear to all of our players we’re going to win championships...
Linas Kleiza signed with Fenerbahce Ulker in the offseason, returning to Europe after a four-year deal with the Toronto Raptors.
Kleiza said he has no interest in returning to the NBA after being amnestied by the Toronto Raptors in July.
Kleiza also talked about how there are only a few teams in the NBA that can win a championship.
By Esau Howard / @EasyStylez It’s cliché to say that you only get one life to live. That’ true for the most part, and as many of us are well aware, there are some decisions in life that we’ll never be able to get back. That is why second chances are special. Raptors fans were impressed with hometown product Kelly Olynyk who played very well in this game. They were not quite as impressed with Jared Sullinger. It seems as though the NBA community is split between feeling the Celtics are lottery bound and expecting them to make the playoffs. Truth is, nobody really knows what to expect from this team. One thing they know is that...
One of the reasons the Toronto Raptors are considered a possible playoff team this year is because they came into the preseason with a starting five already established.
"We're certainly not in the boat where we know what our lineups are going to be but we're getting closer" new Celtics coach Brad Stevens said prior to a 99-97 preseason loss in Toronto on Wednesday...
