Dwight Buycks is an honest man. Most league MVPs would tell you how much better they got during a successful year but Buycks says his game didn’t really change in 2012-13 when he was named the top player in France after starring for BCM Gravelines. “I’m actually the same” said the 6-foot-3 Milwaukee native who is vying for minutes in the Raptors’ backcourt in his first NBA season. Buycks did acknowledge that he grew considerably as a man by being independent and on his own in Europe and got a lot out of the stint. “It definitely was a good year. They put a lot of trust in me with the basketball to lead them to win games and when you have that comfort from your teammates and your coaching staff it helps a lot” Buycks said after practice Tuesday. The former Marquette guard put himself on Toronto’s radar with his play in France and then an excellent summer league in Orlando and then Las Vegas. He was signed to a two-year deal. “For us it was a steal it was a good eye for his tale...

Recap: A circus ending leads to another C’s preseason loss to Toronto, 99-97

With under a minute to go in the fourth quarter, the Celtics were trailing the Toronto Raptors by three, 95-92.  Inexplicably, they fouled intentionally.  At least it seemed that it was intentional.  Chris Babb fouled Dwight Buycks (who?!?!) made both free throws to make it a 5 point game that the Raptors would not relinquish.  MarShon Brooks did hit a three just after that,...

Comments from the Other Side - Raptors 10/16

Raptors fans were impressed with hometown product Kelly Olynyk who played very well in this game.  They were not quite as impressed with Jared Sullinger.  It seems as though the NBA community is split between feeling the Celtics are lottery bound and expecting them to make the playoffs.  Truth is, nobody really knows what to expect from this team.   One thing they know is that...

Another comeback falls short for Celtics in preseason loss to Raptors

One of the reasons the Toronto Raptors are considered a possible playoff team this year is because they came into the preseason with a starting five already established. "We're certainly not in the boat where we know what our lineups are going to be but we're getting closer" new Celtics coach Brad Stevens said prior to a 99-97 preseason loss in Toronto on Wednesday...
