When you see a player in a walking boot, it's hard to imagine they'll be ready to play the next game.  In Kyle Lowry's case, it's hard to imagine he'll be playing anytime soon.  The Toronto Raptors' team leader sprained his ankle in the second quarter of Toronto's blow-out loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.  He was carried off the court, did not return, and was walking around in a boot after the game.Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun says the walking boot is precautionary, and Lowry is listed as day-to-day.  However, the injury itself looked bad when it happened.  Couple that with the fact that he couldn't even walk off the court under his own power, and Toronto has to be concerned. While the Raptors were blown out last night, the outcome may have been different had Lowry not gone down.  He was certainly motivated for the game.  He and Thunder guard Russell Westbrook said before the game they were excited and ready to go head-to-head with each other.  After Lowry's injury, though, any chance the Raptors had in the game quickly faded away.Lowry is in his seventh NBA season.  He is with his third team.  But don't mistake him as a journeyman player who can't contribute.  I his career, Lowry has averaged 10.5 points per game and 4.8 assists per game.  He is averaging 18.3 points per game now that he has a chance to be a team leader and be a star. The amount of time Lowry will have to miss is unknown, but his absence will be felt.  The Raptors need him to kick-start their offense.  He can find the open shooter, he can drive to the bucket, and he can be the leading scorer.  Without him, the entire team will have to step up to avoid more embarrassing losses like last night.
