The Toronto Raptors defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday by the score of 94-89. It was the Raptors' third win in their last four games to move them to 20-18, first in the Atlantic Division. Veteran small forward John Salmons played only ten minutes due to back problems, but practiced on Saturday. Tyler Hansbrough has been out, but he also practiced.Josh Lewenberg, Toronto Raptors NBA beat reporter, tweeted the following on the status of  Raptors' injuries. Hansbrough (ankle) continues to practice, Salmons (back) also participated this afternoon. Both will be game-time calls tomorrow vs Lakers— Josh Lewenberg (@JLew1050) January 18, 2014Matthew Addie via Wikimedia Commons It's a good sign that Salmons practiced just a day after the injury, but one must be cautious before assuming he'll be ready to play tonight against the Lakers.  Final word on Salmons status should be available by this afternoon.  Should Salmons be unable to go, expect Larry Fields to see extra playing time.Salmons was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs in the first round in 2002.  He has played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks and the Raptors.  Salmon's best season was 2008-2009 when he averaged 18.3 points per game.  He's averaging six points in 36 games this season and has a career scoring average of 9.7 points, in 832 games.
