The Raptors officially announce the signing of their free-agent F/C Amir Johnson during a press conference this afternoon at the ACC.  The two sides agreed to a 5 year, $34 million deal. The 6′9”, 210 lbs Johnson played in all of the Raptors 82 last season and had averages of 6.2 and 4.8 boards in just under 18 minutes per game. Amir spent the first 4 seasons of his career with the Pistons in Detroit after being selected in the second round, 52 overall in the 2005 draft.  He was the last player to be taken out of high school before the NBA put their age restrictions in place. Johnson should see quite a bit more playing time now that Chris Bosh has left for Miami. Toronto acquired Johnson before last season along with swing man Sonny Weems in a trade for Carlos Delfino and Roko Ukic’ with Milwaukee.
