Sam Amick is reporting in USA Today that the Raptors are expected to sign former Celtic Mickael Pietrus to a deal on Friday. They are expected to release Dominic McGuire to make room for Pietrus on the roster.
Pietrus averaged 6.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in 42 games for the Celtics last season. He missed games for an assortment of injuries that included a hamstring injury, a knee injury and a concussion. Pietrus brings a scorer who can spread the floor as well as a good defender to the Raptors. At 3-13, they need some help.
Terms of the deal weren't disclosed, but Pietrus has been firm so far this season saying that he would not play for the vet minimum and wanted more. The Celtics wanted to bring him back at the vet minimum but had to pass on the higher price tag. His name has been connected with a series of teams this season but none had more than the minimum to offer. He loved being a Celtic, but not enough to play for them for the vet minimum. ...

Jason Terry Is ‘Fun’ Player Who Doc Rivers Thinks Everyone Should Have Opportunity to Coach
BOSTON — Jason Terry has had difficulty finding his niche so far in Boston, but no matter how inconsistent his scoring totals have been, the veteran guard has already made an impression on his new coach.
Terry dropped 17 points to lead all Celtics starters in Boston’s 96-78 victory over Portland on Friday. That came just one week after he was held to five points against Oklahoma...
Rajon Rondo Gets Ejected for Fighting Kris Humphries Who Punched Kevin Garnett (Video)
The Boston Celtics met the Brooklyn Nets earlier tonight at the TD Garden arena, and things got wild. Kris Humphies "punched" if you will, Kevin Garnett in the face while he was going up for a shot. Celtics guard Rajon Rondo didn't like what he saw and went after Kris. The fight went into the crowd, but nothing really seemed to happen after that. Not nearly...
Vote: Do You Agree With Doc Rivers’ Assessment That the Celtics Are a ‘Soft’ Team?
On Wednesday the Celtics lost to the Brooklyn Nets 95-83 on their home court, and Doc Rivers refused to mince words afterwards.
In the wake of a game that saw Rajon Rondo ejected (and his double-digit assist streak end), Rivers pointedly called the team “soft” in his postgame comments. Rivers even seemed to specifically refer to Rondo’s actions, saying “that stuff’s not...

Doc Rivers Meets Aly Raisman, Tries to Make Jason Terry Comfortable in Boston, Does Not Pay for His NBA League Pass Package (Video)
BOSTON — Doc Rivers claims to dislike coaching against his friends, but as he prepared to go up against one of his best friends in Avery Johnson, the Celtics coach seemed to be in a good mood.
Rivers addressed a number of topics in his usual pregame media availability, from basketball-related issues like Avery Bradley‘s continuing recovery from double-shoulder surgery and the...
Kevin Garnett Flop Starts Rajon Rondo Vs. Kris Humphries Shoving Match
And you guys wonder why I hate the NBA. Sure, it’s great to see Rajon Rondo shove Kris Humphries into the stands because Humphries is a complete douche who deserves to get his ass kicked by the entire Celtics team.
However, let’s at least look at why Rondo started shoving Kardashian’s ex. Kevin Garnett drives, is starting to fall backwards and it looks like douchebags left...

Celtics Live Blog: Rajon Rondo, C’s Hoping to Leave No Reasonable Doubt That They Are Better Than Nets
10 a.m.: On Monday night, the Nets took a cue from their part-owner, rapper Jay-Z, and provided the blueprint for how to beat the suddenly scuffling Knicks.

Rondo, Humphries, Wallace ejected
Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo was ejected in the second quarter of Wednesday night's game against Brooklyn when he shoved Kris Humphries after the Nets forward knocked Kevin Garnett to the ground with a hard foul.
Humphries was given two technical fouls and ejected. Nets forward Gerald Wallace, who joined the fray under the Boston basket, was given one technical, but...
Kris Humphries Out Dirties KG, Causes Rondo To Lose His Mind
I am in the minority here that I have no problem with Rondo's decision to back up Kevin, who was just wacked in the face on a dirty cheap play. What I do have a problem with is that this escalated and the Nets walked away as winners since the trade off was Kris Humphries for Rajon Rondo, which ultimately costed Boston the game and more importantly, stopped the assist streak...
