MIAMI Rashard Lewis is joining the Heat.
Lewis agent, Colin Bryant, told FOX Sports Florida Tuesday that Lewis will sign Wednesday. He will a deal for the minimum salary of 1.35 million.
The free-agent forward is a two-time All-Star.
The 14-year veteran had his contract bought out June 30 by New Orleans for 13.7 million. Money, therefore, was not considered a big obstacle.
Hes made a lot of money in his life, said Jarrel Hartfield, Lewis coach at Atlief Eskin High School in Houston. He wants to win a championship.
After this season, Lewis will have made more than 150 million in his career.
Lewis will join free agent guard Ray Allen in signing with the Heat on Wednesday. Lewis and Allen were teammates in Seattle from February 2003 through the 2006-07 season.
Allen played a role in luring Lewis to Miami.
