The recovery time for Wallace’s surgery is 8 weeks. That puts him back on the court, at the earliest, during first round of the playoffs. — Alan Hahn (@alanhahn) February 27, 2013 Today’s announcement came to no surprise, as Rasheed Wallace will most likely be done as a Knick for the season. This news makes the signing of Kenyon Martin a key acquisition and no longer a luxury. The New York Knicks should now be in the market for another big or a scoring point guard. A scoring point guard might be hard to find at this point in the year, that is why the trade deadline was more important then most people think. Finding a big to take Rasheed’s place will not be as hard as we think. We would assume that Kenyon and Marcus (Marcus maybe Friday), when back at full strength and conditioned , will be a solid back up rotation. However, it is also possible the Knicks bring up Henry Sims from the D-League for an extra practice body and valuable experience, The Knicks really like Sims and are nurturing him along at Erie.
