Ray Allen has been shelved during a few recent games for an injury that seems relatively minor, at least on the surface. Nobody seems overly worried about it.EXCEPT ME, DAMN IT!Allen has a history of ankle issues. He’s 36 years old. Said ankles are swelling up after he plays games. Jackie MacMullan, one of the finest Celtics reporters ever, said she’s heard grumblings that...
This news comes on the heels of hearing that Allen didn't make the trip to Toronto for tonight's game against the Raptors. Some thought that this might have been Doc Rivers' way of resting some of his veterans during this brutal back-to-back-to-back. Let Ray have the first game off, rest up and throw him out there for a normal back-to-back scenario.

Dwyane Wade and Ray Allen both think they should get paid for representing the U.S. in the Olympic Games.
I've often wondered why the sport of boxing today has fallen to such incredible lows in popularity. I do fully understand the brutality of the sport and that our country's best athletes can make millions of more dollars playing sports where they don't get their faces bashed in.
Still, all the time you hear people talking about sports in terms of boxing. Two heavyweights...
*** Ray Allen and Dwyane Wade agree on something. Coming from two teams that absolutely despise one-another, Wade and Allen are in agreement over the much discussed issue of payment to Olympians. Here’s both of their arguments… It’s a lot of things you do for the Olympics — a lot of jerseys you sell,” Wade [...]
That ankle is not right. With Pietrus back, you might as well have Ray Allen sit for this entire three game stretch.
We can only hope Ray will be able to tough it out through the playoffs.
Toronto Raptors point guard Jose Calderon will miss his second straight game Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks.
Calderon also did not play in Friday's game as a precautionary reason to allow his stitched-up eye to heal.
He was hurt in Wednesday's loss to New Jersey when he was elbowed in the face.
Calderon is averaging 10.5 points and 8.8 assists this season.
Playing for your country isn’t enough for some NBA players. FoxSports.com is reporting future Hall of Famers Ray Allen and Dwyane Wade want to be paid to play in the Olympics in London this summer.
According to Allen, “Everybody says, ‘Play for your country.’ But [N.B.A. players are] commodities, your businesses. You think about it, you do camps in the summer, you have various...
Don’t you think NBA players get paid enough? Now a couple of NBA players think they should get paid for the Olympics. I could see if they are the lower level NBA players, but the best NBA players play in the Olympics. These players already make millions of dollars, they don’t need more money for competing for their country.
Boston Celtics star Ray Allen is one...
The Celtics will be Big Three-free Sunday against the Bobcats. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce did not accompany the team to Charlotte, Celtics radio broadcaster Sean Grande reports. Ray Allen was already expected to miss the game with swelling in his right ankle, so Celtics coach Doc Rivers will have a very thin bench. Fortunately for the Celtics, a sparse crew may be enough against...
Vince Boryla can't go to his left very well anymore. Or even to his right.
He doesn't crash the boards or set picks like back when he earned the nickname "Moose." But if anybody wants to challenge him, nothing has changed from six decades ago.
"I just think it's mind-boggling that the thought would come to anybody's mind that Olympic players should...

"Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce did not fly with us to Charlotte. With Ray Allen out tonight as well, welcome to the No Big Three Era. Stiemsma and Pietrus will start with Rondo, Bradley and Bass. Doc on leaving Pierce/Garnett in New York: ”I had already told Kevin he wasn’t going to Charlotte..Paul was impromptu off the foot injury.”
Boston Celtics veteran forward Kevin Garnett could get the night off when his team faces the Charlotte Bobcats Sunday.Garnett, along with Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, could watch the game from the sidelines. Head coach Doc Rivers has talked to his veterans about rest before the postseason begins and Sunday’s contest with the 7-51 Bobcats could be the best spot.Pierce is expected...
The Celtics rebounded nicely last night defeating the Nets, following an abysmal loss in Toronto which yielded very little effort. There was a lot of solid plays to take from this game and they are highlighted below. About the only negative from the game was Paul Pierce's minor injury to his left big toe. Enjoy the clips as a primer for the tail end of the back-to-back...

I’m not even going to get into the fact that Dwyane Wade and Ray Allen are two greedy motherf$ckers who don’t recognize the privilege or representing their country. I know times are tough right now and every penny counts. Very nice rebuttal by Jerry Colangelo. It’s worth a read.
This might be the strangest...
