Thunder The Influence:
It has been reported that San Antonio Spurs superstar Tim Duncan has filed for divorce.
This news comes really surprising to myself, as I would never imagine one of the classiest players in the NBA to ever have marital issues.
However, in the world we live in, divorce is not uncommon and is subject to anyone. Look at his teammate Tony Parker and his ex-wife Eva Longoria.
He and his wife of 12 years will separate, though, Duncan has made a request to the Texas judge handling the case: he wants to wait until the end of the postseason.
Honestly, how could anyone handle such a huge life-changing event in the middle of trying to earn an NBA Finals bid?
Duncan described it as "extraordinarly demanding" and that he would handle the problem the day after his last game of the 2013 postseason.
This is a fair and honest request, though I can't help but imagine this is an extremely cheesy plot line to a romantic comedy.
I mean the script basically writes itself.
> Tim and Amy attend Wake Forest. Duncan was the star of the basketball team, Amy was a cheerleader.
> Tim and Amy marry in 2001.
> Tim becomes an NBA superstar, winning four titles, two MVP awards, three Finals MVP awards, and countless All-NBA and All-Star selections.
> On the downhill slide of Tim's career, the two grow apart due to "insupportable discord and conflict" and file for divorce in the middle of Tim's last playoff run.
(Enter Hollywood Writing)
> In one last attempt to save his marriage, Tim requests the case be pushed back until after the 2013 Playoffs are over.
> Tim plays out of his mind, and unleashes his anger on the likes of the Grizzlies front court.
> Tim and Amy begin to reconnect when they begin to go back to the way things were.
> Almost immediately after they reconnect, Tim is caught in some sticky situation "that isn't what it looks like" that increases Amy's intention to divorce him.
> Tim goes in to a deep depression, and is nowhere to be found at his weekly Dungeon and Dragons game.
> Tim realizes Amy is too important, and tries to win her over by walking away from the game of basketball before Game Seven of the NBA Finals.
> Amy refuses to let Tim do that to his career, and he makes it back in time to hit the game-winning basket at the buzzer.
> Tim and Amy renew their vows and celebrate Tim's fifth NBA Title.
> Tim retires from the Spurs, and the two live happily ever after.
You're welcome, Hollywood. They should really pay me to do this.

It was obvious how this one was going to play out: the Grizz, desperate for the game and back at home after the big comeback fell short in Game 2, were going to win. Duncan returns to All-NBA First Team
The NBA announced its All-NBA teams Thursday and it looks oddly familiar to the one it had 10 years ago. OK, maybe not that familiar. But familiar (and notably deserved) names have made the list yet again.
