Over the summer, the San Antonio Spurs not only lost assistant coach Don Newman to another assistant coaching job with the Washington Wizards, but they also lost assistant coach Jacque Vaughn who was hired as the head coach of the Orlando Magic.

With only Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich and assistant coaches Brett Brown and Mike Budenholzer remaining on the bench, there are two open vacancies for assistant positions.

Now, according to Buck Harvey of the San Antonio Express News, there are two names Coach Pop is considering to fill the vacant positions. Two former NBA players.

Those Popovich is considering to fill out his staff: Ex-players Buck Williams, out in Portland, and Randy Livingston, a D League coach.

Williams was a 6'8" forward who spent time with the New Jersey Nets, Portland Trailblazers, and New York Knicks is his playing days. He was working with the Trailblazers as an assistant during the Nate McMillan regime back in 2010 into the Kaleb Canales .

Livingston was a 6'4" guard during his 11-year career in the mid 90s to mid 2000s. He played on numerous NBA teams but in 2010 was named the head coach of the D-League Idaho Stampede. He's since been in the D-League with the Stampede.

After he tweeted the news, Harvey had a pretty good recommendation of who he felt the Spurs should contact as an assistant coach, none other than "Big Shot Bob" Robert Horry. Harvey tweeted that Horry once said he wouldn't mind giving coaching a shot.

Horry is definitely a fan favorite in San Antonio after he won two championships with the team in 2005 and 2007. Most notable was his game five dagger against the Detroit Pistons in the 2005 NBA Finals.

I can't argue with Harvey, Big Shot Bob would indeed be an interesting fit as an assistant. But, the Spurs are known for making great front office moves, so they probably see something in both Williams and Livingston.
