The Denver Nuggets continued to defy expectations. A team devoid of a true top-tier superstar being able to go out and be at par with the tough teams in the Western Conference. However, things took a interesting turn yesterday. Against the Mavericks, Danilo Gallinari suffered a knee injury in the 2nd quarter. Here is how the team described it: Attacking the basket from the top of the key, he took two hard dribbles toward the middle of the lane and planted his left foot. In a matter of seconds, Gallinari was on the floor in pain and Nuggets Nation was holding its collective breath. Almost everyone who watched it (TBL has video and GIF here) thought it was an ACL issue. True enough, it was. Here is a statement from Denver on the injury: An MRI exam today revealed that Denver Nuggets F Danilo Gallinari suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee during Thursday night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks.
