Fox Sports West:
There still is no set date for the return of injured Clippers point guard Chris Paul, head coach Vinny Del Negro said Sunday.
"Day to day, no timetable," Del Negro said of Paul, the team's star playmaker who is out because of a bruised right kneecap.
"With a bone bruise it's just a matter of letting it calm down," and then the Clippers have to wait "until he gets out on the court in practice and see how he reacts," Del Negro said.
In the meantime, "it's a matter of when head trainer Jasen Powell gives him the OK to get out there and start working," Del Negro said.
Paul, 27, sat out his fourth consecutive game Sunday and seventh overall because of the bruise.
In the 39 games he has played, Paul averaged 16.6 points, nearly 10 assists and more than two steals per game.
Eric Bledsoe, 23, largely has assumed Paul's point-guard duties and "we have confidence, the whole team does, in Eric," Del Negro said. "He just has to be more consistent. No one can fill Chris Paul's shoes, that's a difficult thing."
Chauncey Billups has good workout
Chauncey Billups, battling tendinitis in his left foot, "had a really good workout" Sunday that included running "up and down the court," but the veteran guard's return also remained unknown, Del Negro said.
"There's really no timetable," Del Negro said, adding that it would depend on how Billups' foot reacts when the five-time All-Star begins practice that includes physical contact.
Going on a long trip
The Clippers hit the road for their longest trip of the season, an eight-city tour that starts in Minnesota on Wednesday.
That's followed by games in Toronto, Boston, Washington, Orlando, Miami, New York and finally Philadelphia on Feb. 11. The Clippers return to Staples Center to play the Houston Rockets on Feb. 13.
Only two of the eight teams the Clippers face on the trip have winning records: the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks.
The Clippers left on the trip with a road record of 13-8.
BEST OF MAXIM
With their All-Star point guard banged up, the Los Angeles Clippers have struggled on the road lately. Perhaps it's not the best time for their longest trip of the season.
They open the eight-game swing against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who have had to deal with their own injuries and adversity during a long slump.

LOS ANGELES -- The Clippers are back in their "happy place," as Lamar Odom called it Sunday night.
They played team defense and kept a positive energy. They got everyone involved offensively. They shared the ball.
Most of all, they put an end to their four-game losing streak, and at the perfect time. Their 96-83 win over the Portland Trail Blazers at Staples Center avenged...
LOS ANGELES -- This time, the Los Angeles Clippers finished what they started. One night after surrendering the final 10 points of the game in an excruciating loss to the Trail Blazers, the Clippers reversed the result in a 96-83 victory over Portland at sold-out Staples Center. In the process, the Clippers halted a four-game losing streak despite playing without star guard Chris...
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Blake Griffin had 23 points and nine assists and the Los Angeles Clippers ended a four-game losing streak with a 96-83 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.
The Clippers have the third-best record in the NBA at 33-13, 2 games behind San Antonio.
Eric Bledsoe had 10 points, five assists and five rebounds in his seventh start as point guard.
Jamal Crawford has been quickly taking names with his deadly crossover. Wesley Matthews gets so confused that he just gives up with a wave of the hand. Jamal Crawford has been doing these things for years on players. He might be the most underrated ball handler in the league with devastating moves like this. Wesley Matthews never stood a chance.
If you took a poll among fans as to who has the best crossover in the NBA, I’m sure Jamal Crawford would at the very least be right in the middle of the discussion.
But after this crossover last night, he may have just secured the title.

On Saturday, Jamal Crawford and his Clippers traveled North to face the Blazers at Portland’s Rose Garden, the arena in which he played his home games last season. In those home games, he scored just 13.5 points per game on 40.5% from the floor and 30.9% from three. As the numbers indicate, Crawford’s stint with the Blazers was a yearlong struggle. He was bad, the team...

On Sunday, after a double-overtime win over the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce learned of Rajon Rondo's season-ending injury on live television. The expression that crossed his face, and the "Oh my God" he muttered as a first reaction, was what it looks like when a great team's present and future come crumbling down.
This is the end for the Boston...
