Ricky Rubio is in the same boat as Derrick Rose.  His surgical repaired knee is keeping him off the court, keeping him from helping his team.  However, that changed yesterday.  Rubio and Kevin love were back on the practice court.  Love has a broken hand and has been out since mid-October. For Rubio, the practice was a major step in the right direction.  Knee injuries make it difficult for players to participate in basketball activities while they recover.  Side-to-side movement is often the last thing the player gets back.  However, Rubio was able to participate in offense-only practice along with Love says Jerry Zgoda of the Minnesota Star-Tribune. Rubio tore his ACL back in March, not long before Rose's injury.  He has been rehabbing ever since, but it has been a long, frustrating process for the 22-year old Spaniard.   Rubio's long-awaited debut in the NBA happened last year.  He was drafted by the Timberwolves but was stuck on his team in Spain until last season.  During the 2011-12 season, Rubio played 41 games and averaged 10.6 points per game.Everyone knows what Kevin Love can do.  He has been a dominant force since being drafted by the Wolves in 2008.  Love has averaged 17.3 points per game and 12.0 rebounds per game in his career.  He broke his hand in October doing knuckle push-ups reportedly.The Timberwolves have managed to stay afloat despite a rash of injuries.  In addition to Rubio and Love, one of the team's other big men, Nikola Pekovic went down last week.  Brandon Roy has been sidelined with another knee injury and is now slated for surgery.  He was able to participate in full practice yesterday though.  The Wolves are 5-4 on the season even without some of their best players on the floor.
