News broke in December about the potential name change for the New Orleans Hornets. Marc Spears broke the news with a list of potential team names. When the list was revealed, Twitter exploded with a favorite being the Pelicans. Now we know these things take time. Whenever a team or player want to change something, whether it's their name or jersey number or team name, the board reviews, the trademarks need to go through and the branding needs to begin. That is why it's shocking that today Marc Spears is reporting that the Hornets are going to make their announcement on the team name change to the Pelican.
