Her son Derrick returned to practice after getting held out of Monday's scrimmage and the Bulls' day off Tuesday and looked "great" according to coach Tom Thibodeau. And then Derrick explained the mindset that led Thibodeau to say "he attacked" throughout said practice.
"I'm a guy where whoever is on the court I'm going to go at them" Derrick said. "If it's my teammates … it could be my mom on the court. She's going to get killed. I couldn't care less. For me I'm just trying to build that mentality that I don't care who is out there. I'm going to play the same way."
At Friday's media day Rose said he didn't want to miss any practices or exhibition games after sitting all last season following left knee surgery. Asked he if he fought the organization's "planned rest" approach he said no.
