MINNEAPOLIS Three members of the Minnesota Timberwolves -- Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio and Derrick Williams -- arrived Thursday in Orlando to participate in NBA All-Star Weekend. After a day of travel, interviews and photographs (and maybe a minute or two of relaxing), the festivities begin Friday in full force. A look at the events in which you can watch and cheer for Love, Rubio and Williams: 8 p.m. CT Friday: BBVA Rising Stars Challenge (TNT) Rubio and Williams will play in the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge -- previously known as the rookie-sophomore game -- against each other. Ten rookies and 10 second-year players will participate in the game, and for the first time and rosters will be mixtures of rookies and sophomores instead of having the two groups divided by experience. Rubio will be playing on Team Shaq, coached by Shaquille O'Neal, and Williams on Team Chuck, coached by Charles Barkley. 8:30 p.m. CT Friday: Foot Locker Three-Point Contest (TNT) The evening of contests will begin at 7:30 p.m., and the three-point contest will be the third of four competitions, so it should start at about 8:30. Love will compete against Ryan Anderson (Orlando), Anthony Morrow (New Jersey), Mario Chalmers (Miami) and Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City). Players will have 1 minute to shoot as many 3s as they can, and the top three contestants will advance to the second and final round. 9:15 p.m. CT Saturday: Sprite Slam Dunk Contest (TNT) Williams will compete against Chase Budinger (Houston), Paul George (Indiana) and Jeremy Evans (Utah) in the contest, which features three dunks from each player and just one round. Williams said before leaving for Orlando that he has four dunks planned that he can choose from, and he wouldn't comment on the props or special aspects involved in those dunks. Rubio may assist Williams with one, but neither would confirm that their negotiations about Rubio's help were solidified. 6:30 p.m. CT Sunday: NBA All-Star Game (TNT) Kevin Love will be a Western Conference reserve in the All-Star Game, which will tip off Sunday night. It's the second straight All-Star Game appearance for Love. Click here for the full All-Star Weekend schedule. Follow Joan Niesen on Twitter.
