Earlier today, Hoops World reported that the likelihood of Pau Gasol being dealt exists as the now 32 year old big man suffers through the worst season of his career. Of course, this is not the first time the Big Llama has been on the trading block. Gasol was nearly dealt for Chris Paul before last season, and the rumors of a multi-team trade that would involve both Pau and Rajon Rondo began circulating at the trade deadline last season. Gasol is set to make $38.3 million dollars over the next two seasons (including this one) and is dealing with tendinitis in both knees at the moment. Now normally an expensive, aging, declining big man would not be able to draw much attention on the open market. Unless of course you could find another expensive, aging, declining big man. • Oh hell to the NO! Spaniard? Why r we tryin' to bring back the SUNs? Last I recall, they never won any championships! This is a sabotage....lol!
  • agree with davidf21. looks like D'antoni is trying to recreate his Phx Suns teams with Nash, Amare. No doubt with Nash and Kobe's input. Read that they were interested in Rajah Bell, who I always liked as a defender. So, who's next Marion, Barbosa, Diaw?? So instead of an aged Lakers team, we'll have an aged Suns team.
Pau clearly doesn't run the floor well but why not give up some of his minutes to Jordan Hill and Antawn Jamieson, both of whom are good backup PFs. Pau's versatility is so much better than Amare's.
  • ARE YOU CRAZY!!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS WILL DO TO THE LAKERS. I WISH THIS WERE TRUE. I JUST AM JUST AWE STRUCK ON HOW PEOPLE CAN FANTASIZE. FIRST OF ALL NEW YORK WOULD NOT GIVE AWAY ONE OF IT'S BIG MAN NOR THE LAKERS FOR THAT MATTER FOR GASOL. NOT HAPPENING BUDDY. THIS IS JUST STETCHING YOUR PANTS TILL YOUR ZIPPER BREAKS. WHY WOULD NEW YORK WANT THE LAKERS TO WIN.
