Found July 22, 2013 on Project Spurs:
According to the Hartford Courant, former Los Angeles Clippers forward Ryan Gomes, who was participating in a game at the Greater Hartford Pro Am, says he wants to return to the NBA after spending last season in Germany and has already worked out for the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder. He says he has worked out for the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs, but is still weighing his options for the upcoming season. He says he is using this summer to improve his off-the-dribble shooting. "I was never a superstar kind of guy, I was more of fill-in guy, but I've always been consistent," he said. "My last year playing with Los Angeles wasn't my best year, it was probably my worst in the NBA. So if I go to a team like [the Thunder or Spurs] I know what my roll is already. I'll come in and try to fill any void they have there." With one roster spot remaining on the Spurs, you can add Gomes to the list of potential 15th spot candidates that already includes restricted free agent Gary Neal, Greg Oden, and possibly a player for the Summer League team (Deshaun Thomas, Hollis Thompson). Gomes is a 6’7” 30-year old forward who is the size of a small forward but plays the stretch-4 power forward position instead. In seven NBA seasons, he’s averaged a career 10.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, shot 45% from the field and 35% from 3-point range in 27.9 career minutes per game. In his last season with the Clippers in 2011-2012, Gomes earned $4,000,000 that season per Basketball Reference. With Tim Duncan, Tiago Splitter, Boris Diaw, Matt Bonner, Aron Baynes, and Jeff Pendergraph already making up the Spurs’ frontcourt lineup, a Gomes signing would gives the Spurs seven big men. What do you think Spurs fans? Should the Spurs try to sign Gomes?

Redick ex signed 'abortion contract'?

JJ Redick has been in the NBA for seven years, so he knows his way around contract negotiations. Apparently off-the-court contracts involving his lady friends aren't out of bounds, either. Redick reportedly was involved in a nasty legal snarl with Orlando model Vanessa Lopez early in his career, and now documents are being leaked despite a previous confidentiality agreement...

Ryan Richards: The Project

Ryan Richards is the pure definition of potential. If any other NBA team had their hands on him they would be salivating at the thought of what he could bring this season. Most teams would have him on their roster just because well, that’s what other teams do. They make their decisions based on potential. We all know the San Antonio Spurs take their time when it comes to prospects...

Deshaun Thomas' focus is making the NBA

Deshaun Thomas' chances at making the San Antonio Spurs' final roster is admittedly slim. Don't feel sorry for him, though. He knew what he was getting into.   In five Summer League games, a tiny sample size, Thomas flashed a potent perimeter shot, especially in the pick-and-pop, and advanced basketball acuity, albeit against inferior competition.   ...

Video: Breaking down Aron Baynes' performance at Summer League

The start of the Summer League wasn’t ideal for San Antonio Spurs big man Aron Baynes. He had a disappointing first game and needed to bounce back in the following games in order to show the improvement he has made this offseason.   Baynes did just that by averaging 12 points and 10.5 rebounds per game over his 4 games in Las Vegas. His individual post defense on Toronto...

Friendship before rivalry for Parker, Sefolosha

The San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder will likely always be rivals as long as both clubs remain atop the Western Conference. The Spurs and Thunder have always jockeyed for position at the top of the conference. Aside from that, losing to the Thunder in the Western Conference Finals two years ago kept the Spurs motivated throughout the season, and it provides enough...
