Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker are three names that immediately come to mind when thinking of the San Antonio Spurs impact players. However, the player that could play the most important role for the Spurs this season is Tiago Splitter, a second year player from Brazil. Splitter comes in a 6’11″ and 240 pounds, just 15 pounds lighter than Tim Duncan. Splitter obviously has a lot to learn, but he has been coming along very nicely for San Antonio. Splitter was one of the best picks of the 2007 draft. He did not come over right away because of a buyout clause with his European Club, but he is making an impact now that he is here. Splitter exploded for a big game tonight, scoring 25 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to go along with four assists. Splitter was given some extra minutes tonight with Duncan resting, which allowed he and Tony Parker to dominate the game offensively. The rest of team did not play so hot, but this has got to be a huge confidence boost for...

No Duncan for tonight's game

In a subsequent tweet, it was announced Matt Bonner would start in Duncan's place. This is the Spurs' fourth game in five nights, so his sitting out tonight isn't a huge...

Tim Duncan Sinks The Hornets

The Spurs wouldn’t give the ball to Tim Duncan for the game with 05.2 left on the clock on an inbound play right? I mean, that would never happen with so many other good shooters on the Spurs team –or would it. Cause it did and Duncan sunk New Orleans with a running hook. Unbelievable, after 14 years deep in the league, dude still has it.

Will the San Antonio Spurs Road Woes Hurt Them?

The San Antonio Spurs have dropped yet another road game, falling to 1-6 while on the road. It could get ugly before it gets better for the Spurs, as they are now 1-3 during their 16 road games in a 21 game stretch. Being a Spurs fan, I have been puzzled by their lack of competitiveness in some road games, especially with the lack of defense. Tim Duncan was out tonight, with this...

Houston Rockets: Five Reasons For Victory Over Spurs

Despite the absence of superstars Tim Duncan (rest) and Manu Ginobli (broken hand) on Saturday night, the San Antonio Spurs gave the Houston Rockets quite a basketball game. Fortunately for the Clutch City faithful, Houston held on to beat the shorthanded Spurs 105-102 in a contest that wasn’t decided until Gary Neal missed a potentially tying three on the final play. The Toyota...
