Scotiabank Arena Currently Undergoing Renovations

Since coming to Toronto, the Raptors have built an extremely passionate fanbase.

Whenever the Raptors have made a playoff appearance, the whole country of Canada would show up and support.

Formerly, the Air Canada Centre, Scotiabank Arena has been the proud home for the Raptors for awhile now.

As Toronto is now in the offseason, Scotiabank Arena is currently undergoing renovations. With the hopes of continuing to expand and improve upon the arena.

MLSE’s chief venues and operations office said that the most obvious change will be when fans enter the arena, signage will be all over the main concourse, via Sportsnet:

“It’s really beginning the sort of the energy and the experience that the fan has been thinking about all day in the lead-up to their events. Hopefully they’re anticipating that as they approach the building, but as soon as they come in on this 100-level concourse, they’ll feel that energy.”

These renovations can foster a more immersive experience for specifically Raptors games. While they may be going through a rebuild, signage in the main concourse can commemorate the highlights of the franchise and perhaps more in the future.

MLSE is investing approximately $350 million into a four-phase renovation of Scotiabank Arena. Phase 1 was completed last summer.

However, Phase 2 could not begin due to the Maple Leafs and Raptors playing during the time. But, now this can take place as this marks the halfway point of these changes.

Phase 2 is focused on the 100 level, so it will be intriguing to see what is on the horizon to continue to enhance the fan experience.

To mark the beginning of this second installment, Keith Pelley, president and CEO of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, swung a sledgehammer through a wall on the 100-level concourse as part of a ceremonial groundbreaking.

Toronto Raptors almost land No. 1 pick in 2024 NBA Draft Lottery
