Brian Shaw met with Billy King for over four hours on Wednesday to discuss the Brooklyn Nets' head coaching vacancy. Shaw is also pursuing a job with the Los Angeles Clippers. The Nets are expected to quickly hire a new coach, deciding between Shaw and Jason Kidd. A report from the Philadelphia Inquirer indicated that Kidd would be named head coach of the Nets by the end of the week on a three-year deal.

Late Wednesday, the Nets announced that the team has hired Jason Kidd to become its new head coach. Kidd played seven seasons as a Net and just retired from playing with the cross-town rival Knicks.
