With the Wizards continuing to be one of the worst teams in the NBA, it is only fitting that people start looking at moves/trades they can make to improve the team by the trade deadline. Yesterday our writer Cory Grubbs took a look at a few trade possibilities that Washington could make. One of those trades happened to be with the Memphis Grizzlies and in particular, for Rudy Gay. ESPN Insider Joe Kaiser is also making a case for a possible Memphis/Washington deal that could bring the Baltimore, MD native close to home. His proposed trade would include Emeka Okafor, Jordan Crawford, and Chris Singleton: Chris Singleton has been riding the pine recently, and Emeka Okafor is not in the long term plans for Washington. While Crawford may be a nice piece to have, he would more than likely be more effective on a winning team where he can play a smaller role. Plus like Kaiser said, when looking at the Wizards back court, Bradley Beal and John Wall are clearly the starters. Rudy Gay would bring a high powered scorer at the wing position that the Wizards are clearly missing. While he doesn’t come without questions — regression, drop in efficiency, high price tag — he is definitely the caliber of player that this team needs if they are ever going to compete for a playoff spot. So the question for you Wizards fans is simple: Would you make this trade for Rudy Gay? - Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.
