Weeks of ongoing negotiations between Nicolas Batum and the Porltand Trail Blazers all comes down to Wednesday, and if the deadline  passes and an extension isn’t reached Blazers fans shouldn’t be alarmed. But there still may be long term cause for worry. On a day that so far has seen both Kevin Love of the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Denver Nuggets' Danillo Gallinari reach four-year extensions (with Love's deal including a third year opt-out) with their respective teams, Batum can only sit by and wait his turn. And wait, and wait, and wait... “This is a business,” Batum told the Oregonian after Portland beat the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night. “If we can’t reach a deal, we can’t reach a deal. I’ll be focused on this team and this season. If that happens, maybe we’ll find a deal next  July. We’ll see.” While Portland’s acting GM Chad Buchanan and conversations with Batum’s agent, Bouna Ndiaye, have been continuous, each side is considering all factors (Batum'

Batum is shooting 43 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc, while playing just under 25 minutes per game.

Time to Trade Nicolas Batum

I agree with the Blazers not signing Nicolas Batum to a deal before the deadline. He has yet to bring his European scoring touch to the NBA. I’m not saying he is Sergio Rodriguez because Batum is a top notch NBA defender, but his offence is very John Starks-like. He can go 10 for 10 one night and then go 2 for 15 the next 4 nights. If Batum was more consistent with his offense...

Nicolas Batum Rejected Blazers’ Contract Extension Offer

Nicolas Batum’s agent used somewhat strong language to describe the breakdown in negotiations between his client and the Portland Trailblazers. Per CSNNW: “The Portland Trail Blazers failed to reach an agreement on a contract extension with forward Nicolas Batum and he’ll become a restricted free agent this summer according to Batum’s agent Bouna Ndiaye. ‘We’re still...

Trail Blazers and Nicolas Batum fail to reach extension agreement

The 9 p.m. Wednesday deadline for the Trail Blazers and Nicolas Batum to agree on a contract extension came and went without a deal, raising questions about the small forward’s future with the organization and rankling his agent. After weeks of negotiations that included talks throughout the day Wednesday, the Blazers and Batum’s agent, Bouna Ndiaye, [...]

Batum Disappointed With Blazers' Final Offer

Portland's proposal was viewed by Nicolas Batum's agent as a "low-ball" offer.

Golden State Warriors 101, Portland Trailblazers 93

The Blazers outrebounded the Warriors 43-30 last night, but it didn’t matter as the Warriors shot 51.9% from the floor. LaMarcus Aldridge led the way for the Blazers in this game with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot. Jamal Crawford (16 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists), Nicolas Batum (16 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots) and...
