If there was no lockout, the NBA season would be underway. The Mavericks would have received their rings, the stars would have been shining as the Heat visited the Knicks and NBA fans everywhere would be filled with joy and excitement following one of the most successful seasons in league history. Instead, professional sports fanatics are left with nothing but hockey (or in my case, nothing) to get us through the week and to Sunday while we feel a little more empty inside each and every day.As the start of the regular season continues to be pushed back until at least December, the potential game days go by and the season gets shorter, I can't help but think of all the wonderful things I would have already experienced and everything that we fans could potentially miss this season if the lockout continues well into December or, gulp, even further.NOTE: I am becoming far more optimistic that there actually will be at least part of a 2011-12 NBA season.
