During the tilt between the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday evening, one lucky fan seated courtside received an up-close and personal visit from Sixers guard Royal Ivey. Due to the hustle by Ivey (whose name evokes the notion that it also could be the nickname bestowed on a promiscuous gal who seduces employees of Renaissance Festivals) ending up in the seats while making an effort to save a ball from going out of bounds, said lucky fan wasn’t actually very lucky, because Mr. Royal Ivey’s momentum propelled him straight into the fan, who happened to be holding a glass of wine at the time. Even worse, it was red wine. Not good Video of the incident, courtesy of The700Level: And a GIF, via Deadspin: Eric Burdon & War approve of this wine spillage. I could argue that Ivey really made a “splash” with his all-out effort, as that would be “vintage” pun work on my behalf, correct? Alright, alright, I’ll put a “cork” in it. Unfortunate situation, to be sure, but hopefully, some Wells Fargo Center employee had the initiative to get that poor guy some club soda and salt. Otherwise, Ivey should be expecting a copy of a receipt from a dry cleaner in the coming days.
