The Sixers seem to always have a huge match-up advantage against the Washington Wizard. The Sixers easy win over the Wizards 103-83 is another one for the books where the Sixers again defend home court and really taking it to lower competition. So far the Sixers have not overlooked anyone and appears to be in business mode each game. The Sixers were down two bigs, specifically Spencer Hawes and Nik Vucevic but Elton Brand providing a veteran stable presence filled the void and finished with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Andre Iguodala also had a impact despite not scoring alot of points. Iguodala finished with 7 points, 11 assist and 7 rebounds. His unselfish play really helped the Sixers move the ball and get good looks practically all night. Jrue Holiday had 17 points and 4 assist. Thaddeus Young and Lou Williams each had 14 points. Rookie Lavoy Allen played well in his most extensive action scoring 10 points and grabbing 6 rebounds. For the Wizards, Jordan Crawford scored 17 points of...

Young leads Wizards past Bobcats

Nick Young scored 20 points, and Andray Blatche had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Washington Wizards to a 92-75 win over the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night in Randy Wittman's first game as coach. Andray Blatche Hears Less Boos on the Road

Andray Blatche and Washington Wizards fans aren’t exactly getting along, and the Wizards’ forward says that it’s easier for him to play in enemy territory these days. From the Washington Times: “He doesn’t have to worry about the fan reaction when his name is called during pregame introductions, or hear a chorus of boos every time he misses a shot. He does...

Washington Wizards fire Flip Saunders

This was probably inevitable. After a putrid 2 and 15 start the Washington Wizards fired head coach Flip Saunders. Saunders was in his 3rd season as coach of the Wizards and amassed a 51 and 130 record over his tenure in Washington, failing, obviously, to make the playoffs in any of his seasons.

Flip Saunders talks “disappointing” end to Wizards tenure

Flip Saunders was frustrated. Diplomatic, usually, but frustrated. Considered a players coach most of his career (and more passive, not a yeller), he was brought into Washington to coach a veteran team with Caron Butler, Gilbert Areas — a team that had made the playoffs the year before. Then in one instance of stupidity, the…

Washington Wizards fire Flip Saunders, because it was totally his fault

Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the Washington Wizards have fired coach Flip Saunders because, as the old adage goes, "you can't fire the GM." Um, crap. Actually, it's "you can't fire the players." You really can't fire the players, because then you'd have to hire new players to suit up for another loss the next night. You can fire the GM,...

Wizards are no match for 76ers in rematch

PHILADELPHIA — The Washington Wizards hoped that their recently improved play — and a few close losses — might actually mean something. Against the Philadelphia 76ers, a team that has owned them in every game this season, they were hoping it would mean a competitive game, if not a win. ...
