Some NBA veterans will just refuse to go away. Even if you think your favorite veteran point guards from NBA Live 2004 would be long gone, here they are ready to play once again. They are just sitting there waiting for an injury to open up a vacant roster spot and latch on for some consistent playing. Or veteran leadership. Or whatever else. This is the chance Jamaal Tinsley has been waiting for. The Jazz are in need of some point guard help right now with Trey Burke needing surgery to repair a fractured finger. The Jazz have reached out to Jamaal Tinsley to fill the void, according to Steve Luhm of The Salt Lake Tribune. Tinsley is 35 years old and a 12 year pro with 10 years of NBA experience. This includes a 66-game turn with the Jazz last year. He started 32 games and averaged 3.5 points per game and 4.4 assists per game in about 20 minutes per game last year in Utah. Tinsley was actually a pretty pleasant surprise for the Jazz. He himself a starter in the NBA five years after his last major role in the NBA. Tinsley is not the only throwback veteran who tried to make it in the NBA now. Marko Jaric -- yes, THAT Marko Jaric -- tried to catch on with the Nets this season. That did not work out quite as well as Tinsley's comeback did. The Nets cut him. @markojaric: Thanks to the Brooklyn Nets organization for everything but I am just to much out of shape. Good luck!!! — Marko Jaric (@markojaric) October 16, 2013 Jaric averaged 1.5 points and 3.5 assists per game in two appearances for the Nets this preseason. Obviously not good enough. Jaric has been out of the NBA since 2009. A comeback this year would have been relatively miraculous for the 6-foot-7 point guard. What other veterans are around that want a shot at the NBA this season? [follow]
