New York Sports-Kings:
Amar’e Stoudemire is expected to be coming back from his knee injury within the next few weeks, and ESPN’s Ian Begley says he is willing to take a seat and come off the bench when he does return. Per ESPN:
“All he cares about right now is helping the team and winning,” said one source close to Stoudemire. “He’d be fine with coming off the bench if that’s what they want.”
The Knicks have had success in Stoudemire’s absence, going 10-4 in their first 14 games. Mike Woodson has stressed defense since being named head coach, and Stoudemire’s strength is on the offensive end. The Knicks brought in veteran defensive big men, such as Marcus Camby, Rasheed Wallace and Kurt Thomas, but Amar’e could be a valuable offensive big off the bench.
The Knicks were solid against the Bucks, but in their loss against the Nets the bench really struggled. If this report is true, the Knicks could have two potent scorers in the starting lineup and the second unit. And if J.R. Smith finds his stroke, look out.

MILWAUKEE -- Steve Novak claims he knows the rims at the BMO Harris Bradley Center pretty well.
Nobody is buying that, simply because he's rarely hit them. As pure of a shooter asthere is in the NBA and the best 3-point shooter in Marquette history, Novak is more familiar with the nets in the arena.

Amar'e Stoudemire has gone from punching a fire extinguisher last season to reportedly saying he is willing to pack a punch off of the New York Knicks’ bench this season.
It depends how his injured left knee responds over the course of at least the next two weeks. Then it is on.
Or is it?
Believe it or not, a sixth-man role for Stoudemire just might be the final...
Back spasms prevented Jason Kidd from playing in the first inter-borough battle last night between the Knicks and Nets at the Barclay’s Center. Kidd, who’s had back issues in the past, didn’t even attend the game. At 39, Kidd is the league’s 3rd oldest player, so this could be just the first of many lingering injuries for the 18-year veteran this season.

Mike D’Antoni helped turn the Phoenix Suns into a championship contender before abruptly leaving for the New York Knicks after the 2008 season, and now the current Lakers coach says he regrets making the move. D’Antoni led the Suns to the playoffs four straight seasons. They even made back-to-back appearances in the Western Conference Finals, and I’ll argue if it weren’t...
The whispers have already started about New York’s awesome start to the season and how that ties into Amare’s return from his injury.
It seems they’ve found a system and its flow is effective, to say the least. But where does that leave Stoudemire and his starting role? An anonymous source in New York says that he’s fine with the idea of coming off the bench….

MILWAUKEE -- Before his team hosted the New York Knicks on Wednesday night, Milwaukee coach Scott Skiles wasn't shy about what the Bucks had to do in order to win their second consecutive game. In short, the Bucks had to find a way to keep Carmelo Anthony in check. The plan didn't work as well as Milwaukee had hoped. Anthony scored 29 points and pulled down eight rebounds...
