Sources report that the Knicks have claimed 23-year-old Harvard graduate Jeremy Lin off waivers. New York badly needed to add some guard depth after the Christmas Day injury to rookie Iman Shumpert. Baron Davis is likely out until February and old-as-stone Mike Bibby is also nursing his usual aches and pains. Lin doesn't have terrific career stats in his short time in the NBA but has a lot of upside and will provide the Knicks with another body while they wait for the rest of their roster to get healthy. Lin received a lot of attention after his 2010 Summer League duel with John Wall, which you can watch below.

Iman Shumpert Out Three Weeks, Knicks Backcourt Gets Thinner

I was looking forward to New York Knicks Rookie Guard Iman Shumpert's NBA debut yesterday, and wasn't surprised at all by the NBA caliber aggressiveness he took to the floor with. I expected him to look like a big, strong, guard with as much athleticism as any backcourt player in the Association, and for a brief time he did. He didn't shoot it particularly well from...

A Knicks, Nate Robinson reunion not likely

Not that the Knicks were loaded at point guard to start with, but with Iman Shumpert out, they are dangerously thin now at the position. Even so, don’t expect Nate Robinson to make a triumphant return with his former team. “We’ll look into it,” Mike D’Antoni said. They’ll look, but they won’t touch the high-maintenance Robinson, who [...]

N.B.A. Roundup: Opening Victory Takes Toll, Leaving Knicks Seeking Short-Term Help

Coach Mike D’Antoni all but said there was no chance of a return by Nate Robinson to an already banged-up Knicks team, instead suggesting that Mike Bibby would help fill a hole at guard.

ASK IRA: Did Heat win by not getting Chauncey, Baron?

Q: Does The Norris Cole Fan Club have a president yet? If not, where do I apply? I am glad we didn't get Chauncey Billups or Baron Davis, aren't you? -- Steve.

Cavaliers have a history of top-notch point guards

From Jim Cleamons, Foots Walker and (briefly) Walt Frazier, to Mo Williams, Baron Davis and, now, Kyrie Irving, the point-guard position always has been a key for the Cavaliers.
