A bit of confusing news in the fallout of yesterday's flurry of extensions and non-extensions. According to Buck Harvey of the San Antonio Express-News, the San Antonio Spurs declined to pick up the third year option on James Anderson's contract. Harvey writes the Spurs decided not to pick up Anderson's contract because of the emergence of Danny Green. He added that the Spurs spent all Wednesday (and many days before that) trying to decide if they should pick up the option. They feared that if they didn't pick up his option, he'd become the next Ian Mahimni, who has turned in to a decent big man for the Mavs. But Green's emergence and Gary Neal coming back from injury has buried Anderson on the bench, which Harvey noted has buried his trade value. And that's the big problem with this move. You can't trade Anderson for anything more than probably a 2nd round pick because people haven't seen him play. Let's assume Anderson does get off the ben...

The Silver Dancers for the San Antonio Spurs

It’s a shame that the Spurs just aren’t the same dominant team they used to be.  I guess that happens when players age.   I mean it’s a shame for the fans in San Antonio.  I for one couldn’t care less.    Tim Duncan has had his rings and the new crop of talent is just a little much for these guys today. Still though,  they’re an above average...

Paul Castro breaks radio streak with television broadcast tonight

San Antonio Spurs Spanish play-by-play announcer Paul Castro usually goes through the same routine on game nights. He starts with an early dinner followed by some prep work and research with engineer Bruno Gonzalez before his game broadcast goes live on KCOR 1350 AM. Tonight it all changes as Castro will now go from behind the mic to in front of the camera, as the Spurs start their...

Video: Duncan Considers Himself A Performance Tire

San Antonio Spurs' Tim Duncan pretty much shies away form the limelight. He isn't one to crave the cameras, walk the red carpets, or appear in rap videos. He prefers the quiet life and letting his stellar N.B.A. resume do all the talking. So when he does decide to step in front of the camera, and out of his private life, what better way to do it than in front of millions...

Spurs-Timberwolves Preview

As the San Antonio Spurs begin a three-game road trip, they continue to place an emphasis on limiting Tim Duncan's minutes.
