San Antonio Spurs
By Martin McNeal, The Sports Xchange SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- San Antonio's Tim Duncan wasn't feeling well. So he took it out on the Sacramento Kings during a 97-86 victory at the Sleep Train Arena Friday night. Duncan cautioned reporters after the game because he's been suffering from flu-like symptoms. Duncan's game-high 23 points were one of the few offensive constants on a night in which the Spurs committed 20 turnovers. Luckily for San Antonio, the Kings rarely could make shots. "It's not like it once was where they ran everything through me. Now, if I've got it going they'll keep going to me. It was good (Friday night) Patty (Mills) had it going since Tony (Parker) was ill." Mills scored 18 on eight of nine from the field. "You never know how things are going to go," Duncan said. "I've seen nights when Tony was sick and hit the game-winning basket." Meanwhile, the Kings were lamenting their inability to...

During last night's San Antonio Spurs-Sacramento Kings game, Spurs' TV commentator and former Spur Sean Elliott took offense to DeMarcus Cousins and his disrespect for Tim Duncan. Apparently, Cousins was talking trash to Duncan and Elliott felt that was just uncalled for especially with the trash talk aimed at a future Hall of Famer.
Elliott voiced his displeasure for...
The San Antonio Spurs (5-1) will face the Portland Trail Blazers (2-3) tonight in Portland as the Spurs' West coast road trip continues. Last night, the Spurs beat the Kings 97-86 and were led by Tim Duncan with 23 points, and 12 rebounds while Patty Mills chipped in with 18 points off the bench. However, the Spurs did turn the ball over 20 times during the contest.
Talking about end of the season awards candidates after a week or two into the season can get pretty ridiculous, but you can't blame NBA bloggers and media members for being excited early on this season. Regardless of whether or not certain players will be playing as well toward the end of the season, or sustain throughout, there's no doubting some players have had an excellent...
Jason WhitneyDeMarcus Cousins has become an absolute beast in his third season as a pro. In this highlight, Cousins shows his athleticism and versatility by playing the passing lane and stealing the pass intended for Kawhi Leonard. Cousins then decides to take it upon himself and dribble coast to coast. Not only does he get down the court in three dribbles, he finishes with a thunderous...
After losing their first game in the regular season, the San Antonio Spurs (4-1) will look to bounce back on the winning track as they visit the Sacramento Kings (2-3).
The Spurs are coming off a 106-84 loss to the Clippers mostly due to 20 turnovers and allowing the Clippers to shoot 55% for the game. As for the Kings, they are coming off a narrow 105-103 win over Detroit...
Gary Neal had 27 points, Manu Ginobili hit two big free throws in the final seconds and the San Antonio Spurs edged the Portland Trail Blazers 112-109 on Saturday night.
The Blazers hit four straight 3-pointers to tie it at 109 with 40.5 seconds left, but Portland stumbled from there and was saddled with its third consecutive loss. Nicolas Batum had a career-high 33 points.
Danny Green makes a lot of money. According to ESPN, the Spurs will pay their starting shooting guard $3.5 million this season, mostly to make three-point baskets. A pretty sweet gig indeed, but that doesn’t mean it comes completely free of drawbacks. For example, in Friday’s game against the Kings, Green found himself the last line of defense between a charging DeMarcus...

Coming off their first loss of the season, the San Antonio Spurs look to get back to winning against a team they've dominated in recent years.
The Sacramento Kings have won both of their home games, but they'll have a tall task trying to make it three in a row Friday night against a Spurs team that has won eight straight at Sleep Train Arena.
San Antonio (4-1) has had its...

Tweet The Sacramento Kings are without rookie forward Thomas Robinson for tonight’s game against the San Antonio Spurs as he’s serving the first of a two-game suspension for this elbow to Jonas Jerebko of the Detroit Pistons. Who’s up next?
The Portland Trail Blazers have made it through their first five games of the season, and while the results weren’t always what we wanted to see, the team remained competitive in each and every contest early in the year.
The team now enters its second five-game stretch with a record of 2-3, and while the first of the bunch will be as tough as they come, the schedule...
