Tonight the San Antonio Spurs kick off their preseason schedule with a date against European team Montepaschi Siena as part of the Euroleague Basketball American Tour 2012.
But for guard Gary Neal, it is also a reunion against a team he once faced while playing in Italy and is currently 0-6 against (via Menssana Basket) .
It 's nice to play against Siena - admits the American guard - I've played so many times when I was in Italy against Montepaschi and I think I was 0 and 6 against them. It 's strange to meet this side of the ocean, and who knows, it might be the first time that I beat them. We did not talk too much about them, their tactics, I know Daniel Hackett my great friend, with whom I played with in Treviso, and playing point guard in Siena. He is the only player on Montepaschi I know. We do not think about opponents, we are at training camp and we take care of ourselves, there are things both in offense and in defense we want to put into practice, because we know that the coach will pay a lot of attention to it.
Neal and the Spurs will square off against Siena tonight at 7:30 PM at the AT&T Center. Head on out to see if Neal will finally get a win against Siena. Though I got a feeling that will definitely happen tonight.
