Tony Parker is hurt again.  This would be news if the San Antonio Spurs were losing in the games he missed.  However, the Spurs manage to find ways to win no matter who is sidelined with an injury.  This continued to prove true as the Spurs beat the Phoenix Suns last night without Parker on the court.Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express-News says Parker suffered a right triceps contusion on Thursday.  The injury kept Parker out of last night's game but is not expected to sideline him long.  Parker was actually able to play through the injury on Friday, but the team did not think it was smart to send him out there again.Parker has missed time on multiple occasions this season.  In total, he has played in 54 of the team's 58 games.  Even as he misses time, though, the Spurs keep winning.  San Antonio has shown a remarkable ability to win without their stars and win with their stars.  It's the mark of a truly great team.Parker is having a fantastic year this season.  He is averaging 21.6 points and 7.6 assists per game.  In his career, he has averaged 17.1 points and 6.0 assists per game. San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker was sidelined Sunday night due to a right triceps contusion. It’s not expected to keep him sidelined long, as it’s now being reported he’ll return Wednesday, but it came out yesterday that he attempted to conceal the injury from head coach Gregg Popovich, according to Mike Monroe of Spurs Nation.Popovich told reporters that Parker was a...

Spurs dominate Rodeo Road Trip, Parker's MVP Campaign Continues

The San Antonio Spurs ended their Rodeo Road Trip in usual fashion with a winning record. The team's nine game road trip ended at 7-2, mainly with the help of NBA MVP candidate Tony Parker. Parker played well in every game, with the exception of their last game of the trip against Phoenix where he was injured with a triceps contusion. The Spurs' two losses were disappointments...

Tony Parker won't play Sunday due to a right triceps contusion

A right triceps contusion will sideline Tony Parker for Sunday's game with the Phoenix Suns. The Spurs released the information Saturday on its Twitter account. Gary Neal is also questionable for the game due to tightness in his left calf. Nando De Colo, who hasn't done much of anything, could get some extra playing time but isn't worth a look in anything but deep...

Parker Is Paying Attention To The MVP Talk

Tony Parker's contributions to the league best San Antonio Spurs are getting more recognition from the media. Charles Barkley, TNT analyst, also made the case for Parker to be named the Most Valuable Player of the NBA and it seems TP has heard the rumblings of his name being thrown around as a candidate. In an interview with French website RMCSport.com, Parker gave his thoughts...

Spurs' Brown hopes Olympics leads to NBA job

Brett Brown has been on the San Antonio bench for 12 years now, coaching under Gregg Popovich during a run of organizational stability that is rare in this day and age, and perhaps one of the biggest reasons the Spurs have been able to sustain such a high level of success over the last decade and a half. Chris Finch has been more of a nomad, bouncing from gig to gig on a journey...

Video: Cory Joseph's big game vs. Iowa Energy

It wasn't just a big night for Cory Joseph, it was a very impressive night for the Austin Toros point guard and assignee for the San Antonio Spurs. Joseph had a career game with 27 points, 10 assists, and 3 steals against the Iowa Energy. Joseph started strong by contributing 25 of his 27 points in the first half with 5 assists. The Austin Toros starting point guard cooled...

Don't expect Boris Diaw 2.0 this March

The NBA trade deadline has come and gone and the San Antonio Spurs didn't make a move for your favorite player on the trade block (one day Derrick Williams, one day).  While a deal wasn't made (sorry DeJuan, I wanted you to go to a team that could give you a consistent role too), that doesn't mean NBA teams are done dealing.  March 1st is the deadline for players...

Even short-handed, Spurs too much for Suns

PHOENIX (AP) -- Tony Parker took the night off with a sore right triceps. Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili were far from their best. Yet, even at the end of a long, long road trip, the San Antonio Spurs still had plenty to handle the Phoenix Suns in a 97-87 victory on Sunday night. Patty Mills and Kawhi Leonard scored 16 points apiece to lead six players in double figures and the Spurs...

Pitino regrets coaching the Celtics because they didn't get Duncan

San Antonio Spurs fans will always remember the 1997 NBA Draft, when the team literally won the lottery and scored some guy by the name of Tim Duncan. The entire history of the franchise would have been changed if probability had worked out the right way and the Boston Celtics, the team with the worst record the previous season, had gotten the first pick. The Celtics were...

CC video of the day: Gortat drops the hammer on Spurs' Splitter

Phoenix Suns' Marcin "The Polish Hammer" Gortat lived up to his nickname Sunday versus the Spurs and the victim was Tiago Splitter. Late in the second quarter, Gortat got the ball off a pass from the top of the key and rolled to the rim and only Splitter was standing in his way. But just one man isn't enough to stop Gortat to drop "The Polish Hammer"...

Falling to Spurs helps Suns rise up on down list

PHOENIX -- In a race being run backward, the Phoenix Suns are about to catch another competitor. For now, there are three NBA teams with winning percentages darn-near equal to or even worse than the 18-39 Suns (the Washington Wizards check in at .315 to the Suns' .316.). Defeat No. 39 was accomplished Sunday at US Airways Center, where the San Antonio Spurs -- working without...

NBA Power Rankings- Week 17

MVP Race: LeBron James is the best player in the league, Tony Parker is the best player on the team with the best record, and Chris Paul is technically the most valuable player to his team’s success. Depending upon your definition of ‘MVP’…take your pick. Rookie Watch: Damian Lillard will be the rookie of the year. Mark it down, dude. #1 Miami Heat 40-14 (Last Week- 2): Yes...
