The San Antonio Spurs and the NBA will be coordinating a $25,000 fine on Spurs forward Stephen Jackson for some threatening comments made a few days ago on Twitter toward Oklahoma City Thunder forward Serge Ibaka. Here's the comment from Spurs General Manager R.C. Buford.  "The recent public comments made by Stephen Jackson are absolutely unacceptable, can not be tolerated and do not reflect the standards held by the San Antonio Spurs," said Spurs General Manager RC Buford. Here's the NBA's comment on the tweet by Jackson. Stephen Jackson of the San Antonio Spurs has been fined $25,000 for issuing a hostile statement directed to Serge Ibaka in a Twitter message, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations. Though Jackson did apologize on Saturday, the Spurs and NBA still found the comments did not meet the expectations of how NBA players are supposed to handle their use of social media.  The Spurs are currently on a four-game road trip that will resume Monday in Houston against the Rockets. For a team that keeps a low profile in the media, the Spurs have now been the topic of discussion in the news realm as the "restgate" first started the timeline in Miami, then the Joey Crawford-look a like-gun picture was released, and now the fine of Jackson has been released. Amidst all of this news, the Spurs are still on the winning track as they're on a four-game win streak and are 17-4 through their first 21 games of the season as they are without both Jackson and Kawhi Leonard, who are both nursing injuries.
