Found May 04, 2012 on Project Spurs:
It is a glorious day for sci-fi geeks arcoss the globe as not only is it Star Wars Day with it being May 4th, as in "May the 4th be with you," but the premier of The Avengers movie. Comic book fans everywhere are lining up to see Thor, Ironman, The Hulk, Captain America, and the rest of the Avengers, and so are the San Antonio Spurs. Tony Parker, Tiago Splitter, Tim Duncan, Cory Joseph, Danny Green, Matt Bonner, Manu Ginobili, Boris Diaw and Patty Mills attended the premier of The Avengers last night and were surrounded by fans of the comic book series dressed as their favorite Avenger. Such a shame not one of the players also got dressed up in an Avenger costume. How funny (or nerdy) would that have been?

Tony Parker talks his way back into game

The San Antonio Spurs made quick work of the Utah Jazz in game two of their playoff series as they defeated them handily by the score of 114-83.During the game, Spurs guard Tony Parker had an interesting exchange with head coach Gregg Popovich who wanted to limit him to 29 minutes. Then, Tony P told Popovich that he was rested and to quote him, "I'm 29":

It might be the playoffs but Spurs' Mills is eyeing Olympics

Hopefully the San Antonio Spurs have a long playoff march en route to another NBA title. Currently, the team is leading their first-round series versus the Utah Jazz 2-0 but coming around the corner this summer is the 2012 Olympics where the Spurs will be heavily represented. Tony Parker, Boris Diaw, Manu Ginobili, Tiago Splitter, and Patty Mills will be representing their respective...

Spurs' Green, Parker receive votes for MIP

Though Orlando Magic's Ryan Anderson took home the 2011-12 NBA Most Improved Player award today, San Antonio Spurs' Danny Green and Tony Parker garnered a few votes for the award. Green received 27 overall votes and Parker received three votes for MIP falling way short of Anderson's 260 overall votes. Green and Parker truly deserved some votes considering Green wasn...

Leonard Playing Like Veteran In First Two Playoff Games

Kawhi Leonard has had an excellent first two games to help lead the Spurs to a 2-0 series lead against the Jazz.

What went right, what went wrong for Spurs in Game 2

The San Antonio Spurs demolished the Utah Jazz in Game 2 of their seven game series to take a commanding 2-0 lead. From the looks of the first couple games, the Spurs will be busting out their brooms soon and looking ahead to the next round. What went right? In a word, plenty! What impressed me most was how well the Spurs showcased their depth and their ability to spread the...

Losses show how far Jazz lag behind powerful Spurs

Coach Gregg Popovich modeled his San Antonio Spurs after the small-market Utah Jazz, following the lead of Jerry Sloan, who had a no-nonsense style and hard-nosed players. If the first two games of their first-round Western Conference matchup are any indication, the Jazz still have a long way to go to regain the swagger of the good old days under Sloan, Karl Malone and John Stockton...

Spurs' Duncan thwarting Al Jefferson

The San Antonio Spurs are up 2-0 in their first-round series versus the Utah Jazz thanks in large part to the play of Tony Parker and his ability to create havoc for the Jazz defense. But heading into the series, many pointed to the Spurs' lack of size as a weakness the Jazz would exploit with Al Jefferson, Paul Millsap and Derrick Favors. However, Spurs' Tim Duncan has...

Scouting Game Three: Jazz face undefeated Spurs road team at full strength

Game one and two are over. The San Antonio Spurs won both games by double-digits as the Utah Jazz have yet to make this contest look like an actual playoff series. Now the playoff series moves to Salt Lake City, where the Jazz held a 25-8 record in Energy Solutions Arena. The fans will be motivated to cheer on their home team, but the question remains if the Jazz themselves have...

Hot Shooting Spurs Gun Down Jazz 114-83, Lead Series 2-0

The San Antonio Spurs not only beat up the Utah Jazz at the AT&T Center Wednesday night; they stole their bus money and left them on the side of a deserted road; as they pummeled their guests winning the game 114-83. The Spurs were on fire on the offensive side of the floor for the entire 48 minutes as they shot a molten-hot 57.3% (47-82) from the floor for the evening with...

Ginobili May Play For Argentinian National Team Beyond Olympics

Manu Ginobili may play for Argentina's national team beyond this summer's Olympics in London.

Spurs crush Jazz, take 2-0 series lead

For as much as the Utah Jazz were captured is sound bites after Game 1 talking about being more intense, playing more physical and all but putting a bounty on San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker's head, Game 2 proved to be an even tougher challenge with the Spurs playing the aggressor. The Jazz fought from behind all game, never taking a lead in the Spurs 114-83 thrashing. ...

Spurs spend big bucks

ESPN released a list this week of the highest paying sports franchises in the world. They ranked them based on the average salary they pay to their players each year. Not surprisingly, there are a lot of European soccer teams at the top along with the New York Yankees, but would you believe the San Antonio Spurs are 12th on the list? They’re sitting right behind Manchester...
