Stephen Jackson played on the San Antonio Spurs for 55 games this past season, played his last game on April 6th, and scored 9 points. The following day, Jackson was informed by the Spurs that he was no longer with the team, as they made the shocking decision to waive him, just days away from the start of the playoffs. The team added Tracy McGrady to fill his roster spot. Jackson isn’t too upset about it, as the Spurs are set to play for their 5th NBA Championship against the Miami Heat. You would think that player would lament about the opportunity to play in the NBA Finals, but when Jackson spoke with the San Antonio Express, he explained why he isn’t regretful: “Got my money.” Most athletes wouldn’t be so refreshing with their answers. But Jackson has always been a bit different throughout his career, sometimes to his detriment. Interestingly, Jackson claims Gregg Popovich wanted him to admit that Manu Ginobili and Danny Green were better than him, which they are, however, Jackson won’t admit that to anyone.
