The Golden State Warriors have signed Al Horford to a two-year, $12 million deal .

The second year of Al Horford’s contract will include a player option as the 39-year-old looks to win another championship to close out his career.

Al Horford will give the Golden State Warriors some much-needed size in their starting lineup and will provide valuable floor spacing with his ability to hit the three-point shot.

Horford will be a perfect fit alongside Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green.

Steve Kerr says the Golden State Warriors are going to need Al Horford’s legendary reputation in the locker room after losing Kevon Looney

Horford’s addition to the Warriors will be huge, especially after the team lost Kevon Looney who signed with the New Orleans Pelicans in free agency.

While he didn’t provide the floor spacing Horford will bring, Looney was a strong rebounder, played solid interior defense and he was a significant locker room presence.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr talked about losing Looney and how Horford’s positive locker room reputation will be a big factor this season.

“I’ve had people from Boston text me, call me, rave about how much he meant.

“We’re going to need that without [Looney]. Losing Loon, we lost a piece of our soul.”

The Golden State Warriors make late offseason additions, including signing Seth Curry

After the Warriors and Jonathan Kuminga agreed to a new deal, Golden State was able to fill out the rest of their roster.

The Warriors officially signed Horford, De’Anthony Melton and Seth Curry.

Curry signed an Exhibit 9 deal, which means he will be with the Warriors through all of training camp, and then he will be waived before the start of the season. The Warriors can then re-sign him after November 15.

Without Curry and Melton (ACL) to start the season, Stephen Curry and Buddy Hield will start in the backcourt with Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody and Gary Payton II behind them.
