PHOENIX – Shannon Brown continues to bring the fourth quarter magic. And the records keep tumbling for the Phoenix Suns. Two nights after setting a Suns record with six 3-pointers in a win at Charlotte, Brown had 12 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter as Phoenix fashioned a miracle comeback from a 26-point deficit -- the biggest in franchise history at home -- to stun the Cleveland 107-105 Friday night. It was the third-biggest comeback win in the 45-year history of the Suns, capped only by a 29-point rally at Boston in 2003 and a 27-point rally at Dallas in 2007. The Suns fell behind 18-2 to start the game and trailed 42-16 with 10:47 left in the half before cutting the deficit in half by intermission, down to six after three quarter and finally taking their first lead of the game at 87-85 on Brown's layup with 8:17 to play. But Cleveland rookie Doin Waiters reeled off 10 consecutive points, part of a 23-point night, to cap a 13-4 run an Alonzo Gee's three-point...

Shannon Brown nails six three-pointers in 4th

Shannon Brown’s name doesn’t ring bells like it did when he was running next to Kobe Bryant, back when his breakaway dunks made him something of a national sensation, at least until he left his faction sorely disappointed with an uninspired performance in the 2010 Slam Dunk Contest.  His recognition has never really recovered from the letdown, but that isn’t to say Shannon...

Sunday Dribbles: Same as the Cleveland Brown

When the Cavaliers interviewed Mike Brown for their head coaching job back in 2005, Brown nailed it. Cavs officials were so captivated with Browns character and intellect, they knew right away that he was their man. Owner Dan Gilbert was particularly impressed, hiring Brown before selecting a general manager (eventually, the job went to Danny Ferry). Two years later, Brown guided...

Bobcats’ Games 2-3 of This Year Look Depressingly Like Games 44-66 of Last Year

The only one who could play any defense on Shannon Brown on Wednesday night was Charlotte Observer beat reporter Rick Bonnell.  Bonnell limited the Suns’ Brown to just 4 3-pointers in his write-up of the Bobcats’ loss to Phoenix.  The only problem is that in reality, Brown actually scored six 3-pointers, all of them [...]

Panic In Los Angeles Leads To Firing Of Mike Brown As Bench Boss

Longtime observers of the NBA, know that certain teams, operate in a helter-skelter fashion; ignoring the long-term; while constantly altering their short-term goals.
