Found February 27, 2013 on Celtics Life:
According to Suns forward Markieff Morris, Boston could have landed his twin Marcus instead of the two brothers reuniting in Phoenix at the trade deadline. Morris was talking to KTAR in Phoenix with Bickley and MJ: When did you first learn that your team was pursuing your brother?: “I was on the bus riding to … the Golden State game and Jared Dudley was like, ‘They’re talking about trading your brother.’ So I was just calling him to see how he felt about it. And he said it was between (Phoenix) and Boston.” ESPN’s Chris Forsberg breaks down why this deal didn’t happen for the Celtics and did for the Suns. On the surface, the decision between the two potential deals seems like a no-brainer for Houston. Phoenix is dead last in the Western Conference and their second-round pick this season will likely be in the early 30s. Boston doesn't own a second-round pick in this year's draft -- it traded it to Portland as part of a three-way deal with Houston to acquire Courtney Lee t...

Suns Shannon Brown Upset About Lack Of Playing Time

Shannon Brown has been on 5 teams in 7 NBA seasons, so the Suns guard should be used to the politics of the business at hand. I guess it’s difficult for Brown to accept such dealings when he feels like the guys playing in front of him aren’t better than him. Brown has not played in several games now, and he’s starting to get frustrated.  Brown voiced his displeasure to ArizonaSports...

Your Morning Dump…where Wyc would retire Garnett’s number

Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump  “These are guys that I can’t imagine giving those numbers out to anybody else,” Grousbeck said on WEEI.   The Boston Celtics have retired more jersey numbers than any other professional sports team in the USA with a count of 21. And according to co-owner Wyc Grousbeck, it looks like both #34 and #5 will be added to the rafters when Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett retire in the near future. In an interview with WEEI.com, Grousbeck said this about Pierce: “We’re going to retire...

Suns’ Goran Dragic, Grizzlies’ Mike Conley Are Barely Recognizable on Series of Personalized Debit Cards

Raise you hand if you recognize the man in the photo to the right. It’s OK, we didn’t either. That’s Suns point guard Goran Dragic, who appears on a recently released series of personalized debit cards with Grizzlies counterpart Mike Conley. Athletes endorsing seemingly random products is certainly nothing new, but it appears that the card manufacturer, Card.com, does not...

Celtics Co-Owner Wyc Grousbeck ‘Can’t Imagine’ Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce Not Having Numbers Retired

As if there were really any doubt, Celtics fans can rest assured that No. 34 and No. 5 will indeed hang from the rafters of the TD Garden one day, along with the numbers worn by rest of the Celtics’ all-time greats. Wyc Grousbeck, managing partner and co-owner of the Celtics, confirmed Tuesday that Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, future Hall of Famers who helped bring a 17th NBA...

Celtics Lose Defensive Battle To The Blazers

This could have been a good win for the Celtics had a couple shots fallen their way late in the fourth quarter but the ball just didn't bounce their way tonight. Wesley Matthews was big all night and hit a barrage of shots from long range to keep the Celtics at bay all game. Tommy Heinsohn noted at halftime that this was a game he thought the Celtics would win claiming all the...

However, later he said...

Celtics slip to #13 in ESPN power rankings

Gabe Pruitt, 2009 After losing 3 of 4 games out west after the All-Star break, Marc Stein has dropped the Celtics down to #13 is his ESPN weekly NBA power rankings, three spots below their #10 position last week. Despite clearly being back on the Laker bandwagon (LA is #11 with a 28-29 record), I am actually very impressed with Stein's faith in the C's.  He still has...

Celtics’ Beer Prices Second-Highest in NBA at $8, Knicks, Suns Tied for Most Expensive

Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were not the only people who came away disgruntled after the Eastern Conference Finals last spring. Beer-drinkers could not have been happy, either, after taking a hit in the wallet whenever they wanted to get lubed up. The Celtics have the second-most expensive beer prices in the NBA at $8 a cup, according to Business Insider, matching the Heat and...

Report: Forward D.J. White To Sign With Celtics Within 24 Hours

Help is on the way for the Celtics, though it is not the earth-shattering kind that fans might hope for. D.J. White, a 6-foot-9 forward who last played for the Bobcats in 2011-12, will sign with the Celtics “in the next 24 hours,” Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
