Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson was ejected early in the fourth quarter of Wednesday night's Game 2 in their Eastern Conference playoff series against the Miami Heat after getting two quick technical fouls for cursing at an NBA official.
The Bulls were down by 35 points when things really spun out of control. After an apparent goaltending violation by Heat forward Chris "Birdman" Anderson was not called by the officials, Heat guard Ray Allen scored on a driving layup and was fouled by Bulls guard Marquis Teague. Joakim Noah came off the bench to complain about the foul call on Teague, leading to Noah's second technical foul of the game and an automatic ejection. Gibson began cursing a bit and got two quick technicals, after which he really lost it and began spewing a string of expletives before his Bulls teammates pulled him off the court and his assistant coaches escorted him to the locker room.
Gibson is likely to receive a fine from the league for his actions. The Heat won the game 115-78 to tie the series at one game apiece.
