Yesterday afternoon I caught up with our old friend and former co-host of the Wine and Gold Podcast Glenn Moore from Cleveland.com. Mr. Moore and I discussed the chances of Kyrie Irving winning the 3-point shoot-out, the article  I wrote comparing Irving to Mark Price last week and the trade possibilities surrounding Big Mo Speights. The link to that episode of Cleveland.com's Sports Insider is here if you want to check it out. Later on in the day I checked out the Cavaliers most recent on-court battle with the San Antonio Spurs from the Cavaliers Social Media Suite. The Cavs were nice enough to give my girlfriend Courtney the tickets and it was cool watching the game in the suite sponsored by Giorgio's Pizza. If I bored you by typing out those last two sentences I apologize. I was trying to transition away from talking with Glenn yesterday afternoon to the final series of the Cavs / Spurs game last night. Mentioning my girlfriend, Girogio's Pizza and the...

Kyrie Irving Makes Brandon Knight Look Foolish

Brandon Knight is going to be hearing about this one for sometime. It looks like he's playing the shell game on the streets of New York except Kyrie left the shells at home and just used his dazzling handiwork instead. Poor guy--but in his defense this Kyrie Irving kid is pretty good.
PURE DESTRUCTION

Kyrie Irving breaks Brandon Knight's ankles

The BBVA Rising Stars Challenge has turned into a mostly ho-hum affair, due in most part to mixing rookies and sophomores as teammates — thus removing any incentive to play even half-heartedly. Friday was no different, as Team Chuck destroyed Team Shaq by a score of…well, that’s not important. What is important is that around the 5:30 mark of the second half, Kyrie Irving must...

Cleveland Cavaliers: Advanced Stats Show that the Cavaliers are Nothing Without Kyrie Irving

There is no doubting the fact that Kyrie Irving is one of the rising superstars in this league and that he should become one of the greatest players of this generation. At 19, he has already won the Rookie of the Year award and is already an All-Star. He is the highest scoring point guard in the NBA and sixth overall and has it been mentioned that he is only 19? He has not yet reached...

Cavaliers limp into All-Star break where Kyrie Irving won’t have much of one

Metaphors are a funny thing. In the National Basketball Association, seven seconds can turn a prince in to a pauper. It was the “seven seconds or less” offense that ultimately earned Mike D’Antoni two large market jobs. Reggie Miller used the large part of seven seconds when he drained two consecutive three-pointers against the New York Knicks in 1995. And it was the same seven...

Report: Greg Oden Wants To Play With Kyrie Irving, Leaning Toward Cavs

Boston, Charlotte and Cleveland are among the top teams interested in former No. 1 pick, Greg Oden, who hasn’t played in the NBA in over two years. It is being reported that the 7 footer is leaning towards the team that is expected to offer him a guaranteed 2-year deal, the Cleveland Cavaliers. According to Sam Amico, Fox Sports Ohio: Sources said over the weekend Oden has been...
TAKE THAT, SONNY BOY

Scott, Irving to have three-point contest

Cavaliers coach Byron Scott has challenged the team's point guard, Kyrie Irving, to a three-point shooting contest in a competition that will take place on Tuesday.

NBA News: Chris Bosh to start in All-Star Game over Kyrie Irving

As suspected by many leading up to this weekend’s festivities, Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh will start in the All-Star game in place of injured point guard Rajon Rondo. Miami Heat head coach Eric Spolestra was given the final decision and chose one of his players over other point guards in Cleveland’ s Kyrie Irving and Philadelphia’s Jrue Holiday. Bosh will start alongside...

Box Score: Spurs 96 Cavaliers 95

Talk about a strange game. The Cleveland Cavaliers played the San Antonio Spurs about as tough as you could possibly hope, and they did it on a night in which Kyrie Irving arguably played the worst game of his career since his debut game against the Raptors last season. The Cavaliers came out strong and rose a combination of impressive bench play (especially on defense) and an unexpected...

Matchup of the Game: Spurs vs. Cavs

The matchup for tonight's game when the San Antonio Spurs visit the Cleveland Cavaliers before the All-Star break will be between Tony Parker and Kyrie Irving. The last time these two players faced off against each other was last season during a lockout shortened season. The Spurs took care of the Cavaliers easily in a 125-90 victory. The game saw Parker only play 23 minutes...

Checking in on the Cavs Core

Fast forward to next year and nights like Monday, hopefully, will be unacceptable. As for right now, a loss to a hobbled and reeling Minnesota Timberwolves is one that can be taken, reluctantly, with a grain of salt. Chalk it up to the growing pains of a young and inexperienced basketball team. It's hard to tell if that eases the pain or enhances it--that the Cavs have...

Video: CJ Miles’ monster dunk against San Antonio Spurs

Tweet   Recently Kyrie Irving has been dominating the Cleveland Cavaliers highlight reels, as he should be because the second-year point guard has had a stellar season thus far. On Wednesday C.J. Miles made sure we would be talking about him after the game by doing this…   Matt Bonner, check. Tiago Splitter, check. Unfortunately [...]

NBA All-Star Weekend Rising Stars Challenge Preview: Rosters, TV Info, and Prediction

The NBA’s best first- and second-year players will face off tonight in the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge, which has the distinction of being the only NBA game to feature less defense than the All-Star Game (and a handful of Sacramento Kings games). The Cleveland Cavaliers’ Kyrie Irving, MVP of last year’s Rising Stars Challenge, headlines this year’s event. (Photo by Mike...
