Tayshaun Prince came off the bench in his Memphis Grizzlies debut and made his presence felt in 32 minutes. Prince hit 7-of-11 shots for 14 points. He also collected a rebound, three assists and a block. A solid start in Memphis, and I expect the former Piston to slide into the starting lineup after a few games. Newly acquired forwards Ed Davis and Austin Daye each played five minutes. Neither did anything of note. I'm worried about Davis' value going forward. Daye will have the least amount of value of the three. Jerryd Bayless cooled off with 11 points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal. Bayless started and played 36 minutes. I still like his prospects going forward.

Pistons Fan Waits for Tayshaun Prince at Game, Realizes He’s Been Traded, Balls Up Jersey in Anger (Video)

Some fans find out their favorite player has been traded on SportsCenter, when they can scream at the TV. Others find out in their office cubicle, when they have to remain silent as they read the ugly details. And some find out at the arena, while they are hanging over the players’ entrance tunnel next to the stands, wearing their favorite player’s jersey and just waiting, waiting...

Prince feels right at home in Grizzlies' win over Wizards

By Ron Higgins MEMPHIS -- Even as someone as stoic as pokerfaced Tayshaun Prince could not ignore the enormity of the moment. He had started 798 straight games (695 in regular season, 103 in playoffs) when healthy, dating to 2004-05 for the Detroit Pistons. But here was on Friday night in FedExForum, entering a game for the first time in his 11 NBA seasons not wearing a No...

Prince scores 14 in winning debut for Grizzlies

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Mike Conley scored 18 points and Tayshaun Prince added 14 in his Memphis debut, including a pair of key fourth-quarter jumpers, as the Grizzlies defeated the Washington Wizards 85-76 on Friday night. Marc Gasol added 13 points and 15 rebounds for the Grizzlies, while Tony Allen and Jerryd Bayless finished with 11 points each. Allen also grabbed eight rebounds...

Video: Pistons fan learns the ‘Go to Work’ era is officially over

Tayshaun Prince was the last remaining member of the Detroit Pistons 2004 Championship team. He was also the only one in the entire starting five from that team that spent his entire career with the Piston. Prince was traded last night, along with Austin Daye, to the Memphis Grizzlies in a 3-team deal. The Pistons received Jose Calderon from the Toronto Raptors, while Rudy Gay went...

Pistons set to properly rebuild

The Pistons are officially rebuilding. Again. Wednesday's trade, which sent Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye to Memphis, did more than just close the book on the 2004 championship team. It also gives the team the salary-cap space to overhaul the roster and fix the serious mistakes made in recent years. In the short term, the trade doesn't seem likely to make Detroit a better...

A Knight Loses His Prince

With Jose Calderon coming to Detroit, there’s a question of who will lose out. The Pistons are already pretty guard heavy, so adding another quality guard makes sense. Despite Brandon Knight‘s 7/1/4 line, he has been doing extremely well and should continue to start. Kyle Singler went 5/4/0 (with 2 blocks) has been a bit iffy, but he’s a rookie, and surely Detroit isn’t in...

Home sweet home: Pacers handle Pistons to snap losing streak

After what felt like a super long road trip out West, the Indiana Pacers finally returned to Banker's Life Fieldhouse to pound the shorthanded (lost Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye in a trade) Detroit Pistons 98-79, snapping a 3-game losing streak to begin a long home-stretch with just a single road game until Feb. 23. Not much to say except it was good to see the Pacers...

NBA on TNT Preview

The Memphis Grizzlies, playing for the first time after trading away Rudy Gay, get set to face the Thunder in Oklahoma City tonight. While the Gay swap for Ed Davis, Tayshaun Prince, and Austin Daye saves the tea money and improves depth in the long-run, they’ll be fairly depleted in tonight’s match-up. AccuScore has the Thunder as heavy favorites with 87.3 percent chance at...
