The New York Knicks may have thought they were being cute when they dressed in all black before Game 5 in New York on Wednesday, but it turns out they may have only offended and motivated the Boston Celtics. In fact, Celtics reserve forward Terrence Williams said Friday he found the gesture offensive.
“But when people wear all black and say it’s a funeral, a lot of us have people that died in our own personal lives. So that’s not really something funny, that’s not really nothing to play with.
“You can say you’re going to end the series in New York, but not a funeral. So we know we don’t like them, and they know they don’t like us,” Williams said before the team’s shootaround Friday, via the New York Daily News.
I wouldn’t say that wearing all black in this context is offensive, but if Boston took it that way, more power to them.
The Celtics have won two in a row against the Knicks after starting the series down 3-0. With Friday’s game being a home contest in Boston, there’s a real

HELL HATH NO FURY
Carmelo Anthony believes his wife has every right to be upset with everything that has happened, saying, "She always gets thrown into the mix of the Boston Celtics series."
I've found myself questioning why Danny Ainge would bring Jordan Crawford to Boston. The Boston Celtics are a franchise that prides themselves on great players who take responsibility for their actions both on, and off the court. As the Celtics made a decision to stay away from the pompous taunting tirades of their immature opponents, the seldom used Jordan Crawford shows his...

So do people still want to doubt that Jordan Crawford was talking about 'Melo's wife yesterday? Personally I never doubted he was and I never doubted that KG went there as well during the season. I'd prefer the Knicks to be the talkers and the Celtics to go about trying...

Redemption-the act, process, or an instance of redeeming. A ten letter word.
Most of us have, at some point, been given the chance to right a wrong. To take a prior mistake and make things right. Maybe you have offended someone and been able to step back, reconsider things and correct an error. Maybe you knew as soon as the words came out of your mouth...
Funny how things change after a loss.
The Knicks arrived at Madison Square Garden for Game 5 dressed all in black to signify the funeral of the Celtics season. This was apparently news for Knicks coach Mike Woodson. From the Boston Globe:
I didn’t know about it until this (Thursday) morning,” Woodson said. “I made reference to our guys that we need to stay out of the paper...
In Game 1 of this series Kevin Garnett scored 8 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. In Game 2 he posted 12 and 11, Game Three 12 and 17, Game Four 13 and 17, and in Game 5 he had 16 points and 18 boards. At this pace should we expect a 20/20 game from him tonight?
Garnett's 14.4 rebounds per game lead the entire league this postseason. He's the first Celtic player to pull...
Paul Pierce plans to play next season, and it seems as though it won't matter if he's still with the Boston Celtics.
"That's up to Danny [Ainge] and them," Pierce said when asked if he expects to be with the Celtics in 2013-14.
"I definitely expect to be playing," he added, alluding that he'd consider continuing his career with another team.
Mike Woodson said on Saturday it is unlikely that Amar'e Stoudemire returns to the New York Knicks in either of the first two games of their second round series against the Indiana Pacers.
But Woodson did say Stoudemire might play in Game 3 of the series.
Stoudemire has played just 29 games this season due to lingering knee injuries.

The Knicks have finally ended their 13 year drought and have advanced to the second round of the playoffs after a hard-fought series against the Boston Celtics. The Knicks experienced almost everything a team can in a playoff series and will hopefully put this to use as a lesson heading deeper into the playoffs against better...
Does LaLa Anthony have a right to be upset since the Boston Celtics continues to drag her name through the mud as a way to mess with her husband Carmelo Anthony?
Well according to Carmelo Anthony she surely does. This year during two different occasions, LaLa name along with her honey nut cheerios has been the topic of conversation. Following a playoff game on Wednesday May 1st...
Well it seems like the people of Boston have recovered from the bombing tragedy that shocked the city some weeks ago, and are ready to reclaim their antagonistic status in pro sports.
During the first quarter of Game 6 of the Boston Celtics first round playoff match up against the New York Knicks, the fans at TD Bank Garden, joined in the unified taunting of Carmelo Anthony, by...
The inevitably of the New York Knicks having to get through the Indiana Pacers at some point this season has been apparent for awhile. Throughout the year, the Pacers were generally considered to be the top challenger in the East to the Miami Heat due to their defense, size and how competitively they played them last season in a best of seven series. Yet, the late season tear the...
Celtics Jordan Crawford denied that he said anything about Knicks Carmelo Anthony’s wife following the end of game five between the two teams on Wednesday. But Melo’s recent statement about the incident – and the video where it’s pretty clear what he was saying – say otherwise.
“I would be upset too if I were her,” Anthony said on Friday. “She always gets thrown...
After the Boston Celtics' 92-86 win over the New York Knicks wrapped up Wednesday night, there was a minor scuffle around the scorer's table.
I'm not going to get into what one player said to another about so and so. That isn't the point.
This isn't even about a deep bench sub who can't crack the rotation, possibly insulting one of the greatest basketball...
Six days ago, the Boston Celtics seemed all but dead in the water. They had just dropped three straight games to the New York Knicks — blowing halftime leads in two of them — and Carmelo Anthony & Co. found themselves one win away from a four-game series sweep.
But the Celtics responded with an overtime win last Friday, followed by their most complete performance of the...
