For the Knicks, Saturday night's double overtime loss to the Nuggets felt like much more than the 16th game of an NBA season. Even though it marked the end of the first quarter of this truncated season, 16 games is still not enough to write any obituaries or celebratory odes to a basketball team. The Knicks, who entered with five straight losses and an angry fan base, couldn't be written off just because they lost. And lose they did as an Andre Miller desperation three, Tyson Chandler's sixth foul and the haunting image of an improved Danilo Gallinari combined to send the Knicks to a sixth straight loss. Those were the final notes of the loss, but the entire symphony told the story of a season that has gone terribly wrong for the Knicks. Carmelo Anthony carried the Knicks to overtime with a strong fourth quarter, but he was dreadful for the first three quarters as he hit just three of 17 shots in another poor shooting performance that made you wonder if his wrist ...

Reflective Melo Sees Need For Change

For NBA fans, Carmelo Anthony has been an enigma. On one hand, he is one of the most dominant and purest scorers in the league. His strength in the post against other small forwards makes him difficult to guard. His speed and outside shooting ability make him impossible to guard. He developed into a pure scorer in Denver out of sheer necessity as he never played with another dominating...

Carmelo Anthony, Amar’e Stoudemire Agreed on How to Share the Ball

With doubt, frustration and rumors of team infighting surrounding the floundering New York Knicks, stars Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire both say their partnership can still be a success. From the NY Post: “Amar’e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony had a talk about how to coexist more productively, and they agreed neither has to take a back seat to the other. They...

Carmelo Anthony Wants to Have a Heart to Heart To Talk With Amar’e Stoudemire

You never want to say all hope is lost, but the Knicks have some serious issues that aren’t going to be fixed overnight. I honestly think that the Knicks thought they were going to get Lebron James and when they didn’t they panicked and grabbed two stars just to say they have two stars. They didn’t think about how Melo and Amar’e would work together or how...

Knicks’ skid continues, lose sixth straight

Following a double overtime loss to the Denver Nuggets tonight, the New York Knicks have now dropped six straight games and quickly caused concern throughout the Big Apple. Former Knick Danilo Gallinari led all scorers with 37 points, and Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 25 points. Anthony’s jump shot with 1.7 seconds left in regulation was able to get the Knicks into overtime...

Melo says it may be time to ‘re-evaluate everything’ and that you can boo him all you want

The word “reflective” was used to describe Carmelo Anthony after Saturday night’s win over the Nuggets. He wasn’t just pressing ahead, spitting out “both teams played hard” and ignoring the realities of where the Knick are at. He was honest about the struggles, and even if the comments come with a slight dose of bitterness,…

Melo & Co. suffer 6th straight loss

All sides of the enigmatic Carmelo Anthony were on display last night — the good, the bad, the brilliant and the ugly. Mostly ugly. Melo’s late fourth-quarter heroics become a moot point and led to a sixth straight Knicks loss in a double-overtime thriller to the Nuggets, 119-114, at the...

They need to talk

PBT: Carmelo Anthony says the Knicks' offense is out of balance, and is going to talk about it with teammate Amare Stoudemire.
