Photo Courtesy of Bleacherreport.comTonight, the Los Angeles Lakers return home with their 2 game win streak to take on Kemba Walker and the Charlotte Bobcats.Yes, the Lakers are on a win streak. The Lakers are enjoying a rare taste of victory as they are coming off a 111-98 drubbing of the uninspired Philadelphia 76ers.  Kobe Bryant, playing more of a facilitating role as of late, scored 34 points and dished out a team-high 6 assists.  Metta World Peace was looking rather youthful as he added 19 points, including 3 of 4 from behind arc and gobbling up a game-high 16 rebounds. The Bobcats come to Tinsletown losing 11 of their last 12 contests.  They have not won a single game in the month of December and their last win was in November against none other than the Washington Wizards.  Although Charlotte has been coming up short in wins, second year guard Kemba Walker is starting to draw the attention of the league as he begins his campaign to become one of the NBA’s elite point guards.  This was more than evident as he torched the Orlando Magic, scoring 32 points in the 107-98 loss to the Orlando Magic.Although the Lakers have won two in a row, they are far from being out of the woods and back into title contention talk for the time being.  The Bobcats will be looking to use their youth and atheleticism to dismantle an already anemic Laker defense.  Walker alone will be difficult for any of the Laker guards not wearing number 24 to stay in front of.What should be a huge boost for the Lakers tonight is the return of their 7 foot Spaniard, Pau Gasol.  Gasol has been sidelined for the past couple of weeks with knee tendinitis but will be making his return to the line-up.  With Gasol’s return tonight, and with talk of Mike D’Antoni’s 7-second offense facilitator, Steve Nash’s possible return to the Lakers against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday, the Lakers seem to be on the verge of mending their wounds and getting closer to becoming a healthy team.  But that’s Saturday. The Bobcats are looking to come into the dog house known as Staples Center tonight and leave with a win.  The Lakers need to show the Bobcats what happens when you try to take food from a hungry dog.Bon appetite big dogs! The post The Lake Show Looks To Tame the Bobcats appeared first on Laker Nation.

Is the ego of Kobe Bryant really hurting the Lakers?

Jason Whitlock, a writer for FOX Sports, dissected the problem the Los Angeles Lakers are currently going through.  According to Whitlock, the root of the problem is not the coach nor the lack of a solid point guard to relieve Steve Nash, but the ego of Kobe Bryant.  Whitlock blames Kobe’s “desperate pursuit of Michael Jordan’s legacy.”  A powerful opinion that some may...

Kobe Bryant To Move To Small Forward?

The Lakers have been struggling to adjust to Mike D’Antoni’s system for a variety of reasons; one of them being the severe lack of quality wing players to run the floor and shoot from the perimeter. Metta World Peace and Devin Ebanks have been the primary options at small forward, and both leave a lot to be desired. It looks like D’Antoni might be making a bit of a surprising...

Kobe thinks he would have scored more points if he never played with Shaq

We know that Kobe Bryant has never been one to downplay his confidence in his basketball ability or be quiet, well, about anything. But he took that too far recently, telling T.J. Simers of the Los Angeles Times that he probably would have scored more points had he never played with Shaq on the Lakers. From Simers' column: 'If I was playing in this [Mike] D'Antoni...

Kobe Bryant praises Darius Morris' defense

When Kobe Bryant was asked about the Lakers comeback, hecredited a player whose performance didn't stand out on the stat sheet. "Our bench came in and did a fantastic job," Bryant said. "Darius Morris is afantastic defender." Morris finished with an unassuming seven points on three-for-six shooting, fourrebounds and three assists in the Lakers' 101...

Lakers Fans Summon Power of Satan to Defeat Bobcats

On the verge of embarrassing the Lakers on their home court, the Bobcats came up emptier than a soda calorie on their last possession. Gerald Henderson failed to put back a partially-blocked Kemba Walker miss, Byron Mullens mistakenly thought the hoop was attached to the ceiling, and then Ben Gordon missed a pretty good 3-point [...]

Kobe Bryant agrees with Andrew Bynum saying Kobe stunted his growth

Before the Lakers took on the Sixers in Philly on Sunday, Andrew Bynum gave a few quotes about playing with Kobe that seemed to be throwing shots at the Superstar. Kobe Bryant responded to Bynum’s assertion that playing with him may have stunted his growth by agreeing with him. “For sure, because when you’re playing [...]

Andrew Bynum says Kobe Bryant stunted his growth as a player

In an interesting ready by ESPN Los Angeles, Andrew Bynum offered his opinion on playing with NBA All-Star Kobe Bryant.  This comment had such perfect timing since the Lakers played the 76ers last night and the fact that Bynum was traded to Philadelphia this past summer in order to get Dwight Howard.  Bynum felt that playing with Kobe really hurt his game due to the fact that the...

Kobe Bryant’s Brilliance Should Be Appreciated, Even By His Most Hardcore Haters

While LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat were running roughshod over the NBA two years ago, I was dismayed to find myself rooting for Kobe Bryant. Bryant had never been a favorite of mine. Judging by the boos that rain down on him at every road arena, my attitude put me in the company of about three-quarters of all basketball fans. He was responsible for so much sports...

Andrew Bynum Says Kobe Bryant Stunted His Play, Warns It Could Happen Again With Dwight Howard

Andrew Bynum is 7 feet tall and supposed to be one of the NBA’s best centers. Instead, he’s spent most of this season working back from knee injuries amidst reports that he’d rather be bowling (which complicated one of the knee injuries) or just not playing basketball at all. Still, Bynum has apparently found some room to throw stones when it comes to explaining why his career...
