New York Knicks
The New York Knicks 2012-2013 campaign was the best season the team has had in the past 13 years.
This year was the first time the Knicks had won a playoff series since the 1999-2000 season.
It was the first time the Knicks had won the Atlantic Division since the year I was born, 1993.
Carmelo Anthony finished third in the MVP voting. J.R. Smith won the NBA’s 6thMan of Year Award. Tyson Chandler was named to the NBA’s All Defensive First Team.
But I’m here to tell you that this Knicks team is a lost cause.
Let’s start off with their roster. Almost all of the Knicks that received serious playing time this year are still under contract for next season.
Here are the players that are scheduled to be free agents this summer: Renaldo Balkman, Kurt Thomas, Rasheed Wallace, James White, Chris Copeland, Kenyon Martin, Quentin Richardson, and Soloman Jones.
J.R. Smith has a player option for next season, but after him, almost everyone in the Knicks rotation is under contract for two more seas...
BEST OF MAXIM
About three years ago, I heard Charles Barkley on the NBA on TNT post game show make a statement about Joe Johnson, now of the Brooklyn Nets, when Joe was a member of the Atlanta Hawks.
“If Joe Johnson is the best player on your team, you’re not going far.” – Charles Barkley
Funny thing about that quote is Charles was right on the money. Fast forward to today and you could...
J.R. Smith will become a free agent this offseason but said after Saturday night’s 106-99 season-ending loss to the Indiana Pacers that he hopes to return to the New York Knicks. “I want to retire a Knick,” Smith said when asked about his future
The New York Knicks have been eliminated from the playoffs, and now MVP candidate Carmelo Anthony is slated to have his ailing left shoulder examined, according to Frank Isola of The New York Daily News.Anthony experienced discomfort in his shoulder earlier in the playoffs, prompting the Knicks to have it examined. The injury wasn't determined to be significant, and he continued...
Sometimes when your reputation is bad, it is easy for people to pile on and just agree with anything that is said about you.
For example, if I said “sources say” that Rihanna was drunk and passed out in a club last night, you would probably believe it. Not necessarily because you believe my sources, but because of what you think about Rihanna. That is the problem facing JR Smith...
Nothing personal against JR Smith who has said he would like to retire as a Knick, but some players just aren’t championship style players. I think JR Smith is a good player, but you can’t depend on him to be your #2 on a championship team.
He isn’t D Wade, Russell Westbrook., Tony Parker or Manu Ginobili. This has nothing to do with his clubbing, but he is a player who shoots...
JR Smith had one of his best seasons as an NBA player with the Knicks this season. Under the guidance of head coach Mike Brown, Jr found the stability and rhythem he had been lacking most of his career. JR won the “Sixth-Man-Of-The-Year, but the Knicks feel short to the Indiana Pacers. JR can opt out of his contract this summer which is set to pay him $2.8 million. Following Saturday...
S/O to Max Cayard Manager of Knicks Player Security. Talked Knicks with him at Ruth Chris tonight. Good guy!
— Peter from Knickswag (@Knickswag) May 21, 2013
Just happened to meet Max at Ruth Chris tonight after I mentioned what it feels like to be a broken hearted Knicks fan. He laughed then introduced himself. Mos def a good guy. We talked Knicks basketball for 10 minutes, but...
The Indiana Pacers needed a career-high game from Lance Stephenson to take down the New York Knicks in Game 6.
Stephenson chipped in 25 points on Saturday as the Pacers walked away with a hard fought 106-99 win to advance to the Eastern Conference finals.
Stephenson also secured 10 rebounds while Paul George contributed 23 points to the Pacers’ collection plate.
Carmelo Anthony will have his injured left shoulder re-examined in order to determine how to treat it moving forward.
The New York Knicks are hopeful that Anthony will not need surgery and that it will improve with rest.
Anthony originally injured his shoulder during an April 14th win over the Indiana Pacers. Anthony reported that his left arm "popped in and out" when...
The Knicks' 106-99 loss to the Pacers in game six of their round two matchup put an end to their NBA title dreams, thus allowing the season to come to a close.Having won a previously pivotal game five on their home court to stay alive, New York had hoped to steal a game six victory away from Indiana as well (this time on the road) to bring the series back to the Big Apple and...
Jalen Rose has provided lots of insight into the lifestyle of a professional athlete since he has crossed over to the other side and climbed into the broadcast booth. In a recent podcast, Jalen discussed JR Smith – and most NBA players – petulance to party and if it actually harms their game.
The average person probably doesn’t have an up close and personal view of a...
When you think of Carmelo Anthony, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Some will say, “One of the best/purest scorers in the NBA,” while others might bring up his wife La La. Then you’ll have the long time fans bring up his championship run at Syracuse, which was a great one by the [...]
My Knicks are officially done! which hurts me to say, I felt this year was our best shot at an NBA Championship, unfortunately we fell to the Indiana Pacers in the semi-conference finals in 6 games. Hopefully we can make a stronger run next season. Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony addressed the media after the series loss wearing a cool $490 Jil Sanders s/s sweater, with bold black...

Pablo Prigioni could return to Spain.
Prigioni, who played a huge role in the 2012-13 season with the New York Knicks averaging 4.5 points, 3.2 assists while shooting over 43 percent from beyond the arc, could face a tough decision due to wife’s wishes to move back to Spain, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.
