PLAYERS: Derrick Rose
TEAMS: Chicago Bulls

The 2011-2012 season was one of highs and lows for one of the league’s most explosive and fun-to-watch players, Derrick Rose. Rose was coming off of a stellar MVP season, and looked to build on that and push the Bulls deep into the playoffs. The Bulls extended his contract for another five years and $94.8 million in December of 2011, rightfully so. Rose averaged 21.8 points and 7.9 assists per game during the season, and had the Bulls sitting atop the East at 50-16. Their first round matchup paired them with the Eighth-Seeded 76ers. via cosbysweaters.com The Injury Game 1 of the seven-game series was in Chicago where the Bulls led from basically start to finish. Rose played fabulous scoring 23 points, dishing nine assists, while grabbing nine boards, but he did not finish the game. With the Bulls up 12 late, Rose drove to the basket and made a hop-step, but when he came back to the floor his left knee gave out. He immediately grabbed it and fell to the floor. Joakim Noah violates NBA dress code while seated on bench, forced to change (pics)

Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah, currently not in the lineup as he continues to deal with plantar fasciitis in his right foot, ran afoul of the NBA’s apparently stringent dress code policies on Monday while seated on the bench during the team’s game against the Indiana Pacers. Nattily attired — by most standards, as you can see above — in a nice grey sweater, a tasteful...

Joakim Noah Asked to Change Clothes at Halftime, Providing Another Opportunity to Pretend NBA Dress Code is Worst Thing Ever

The fashion police should have come for Joakim Noah long ago. The unshaven, wild-haired center for the Chicago Bulls has never been the cleanest-cut person in the world, and it sometimes seems like his offensive skills stem largely from his defender’s unwillingness to touch him. Noah finally pushed a bit too far on Monday. He was escorted off the bench in the second quarter of...

Chicago Bulls’ New Scoring Options Are Reasons for Optimism

Going into the regular season, optimism was at a low point for the Chicago Bulls fan base. But after a 29-18 start that has them in 1st place in the Central division and 3rd place in the Eastern Conference (just a couple games behind the Knicks and Heat), the outlook on the Bulls’ 2012-2013 season has quickly changed. With former MVP Derrick Rose expected to return sometime soon...

Joakim Noah kicked off Bulls bench for unacceptable outfit

From a Yahoo Ball Don't Lie article: On Monday night, an NBA employee asked that injured Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah leave his team’s bench because his outfit was deemed unacceptable by the NBA. Here's what Noah was wearing: The NBA has a rule that states all inactive players must wear a sportcoat/jacket when sitting on the bench.  Apparently that sweater was...

Chicago Bulls: Bench Mob Even Better in 2013

The Chicago Bulls had one of the best benches in the NBA over the last two years, but last off-season, for cap purposes, decided to remake the bench with cheaper options. This involved trading Kyle Korver, letting the Rockets sign Omer Asik and not picking up the team options on CJ Watson and Ronnie Brewer. The Bulls did not believe that they would be  contenders, since they...

Nate Robinson Calls Refs Lazy After Not Reviewing Controversial No-Call

At 98-94 with under 2 minutes to go, the undermanned Bulls seemed to be gaining momentum on Monday night until a 50/50 ball flew out of bounds and the refs called Indiana ball without hesitation and oddly refused to review the play, drawing criticism from the visiting locker room who ultimately succumbed 111-101. According to CSN Chicago: “What’s the rule? Under two minutes,...

Bulls Joakim Noah told to change his outfit by the NBA

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard of an NBA player being in violation of the league’s dress code policy. The dress code came into existence during the 05-06 season right after the height of the “bling era” when 5 XL long t-shirts, throwback jerseys and baggy Red Monkey jeans plus ice were all the rage. Bulls big man Joakim Noah was out for his third straight game with...

Carlos Boozer for Andrea Bargnani? Bulls and Raptors have explored trade

The Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors have engaged in trade discussions for a deal involving Carlos Boozer for Andrea Bargnani. ESPN's Marc Stein broke the story, and he noted that other players with smaller contracts would have to be added to the deal to make it work. Standing in the way of a potential deal -- whether Toronto could afford to have Boozer and Gay on the team.

Pacers 111, Bulls 101

David West scored 29 points and Paul George had 21 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, leading the Indiana Pacers past the short-handed Chicago Bulls 111-101 on Monday night, and into a share of the Central Division lead. The Pacers won their third straight to tie the Bulls for the division lead and extend their home winning streak to 14, matching the team's longest since...

Bulls lose to Pacers as four starters out

The injury news will get better soon for the Chicago Bulls.  Right?  It has to.  Derrick Rose should return soon.  Kirk Hinrich will be back.  Joakim Noah's foot will heal.  And Carlos Boozer's hamstring will get better.  But last night all four players were out, and the Bulls fell to the Indiana Pacers. The loss dropped the Bulls into a tie with the Pacers for...

Kirk Hinrich Out At Least 1 Week With Elbow Injury

His numbers don’t speak volumes, 7 points and 5 assists per game, but Kirk Hinrich is the Chicago Bulls’ floor general on both sides of the ball with Derrick Rose sidelined – and he will join Rose in the training room for games for at least one week with an elbow infection that flared up from a previous injury last month. According to ESPN.com: Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said...
